Google Pixel 2: How many devices will we see?

Originally it was assumed that Google, like last year, will release two smartphones Pixel. Then there was a message that the company was also working on a third device, which is expected to be even larger than the Pixel XL.

However, it looks like Google will actually release only two smartphones this year.

But who will be responsible for the production of the upcoming Pixel 2 generation? The first rumors claimed that Google has teamed up with HTC manufacturer who made the Pixel and Pixel XL last year. The new rumors suggest that the online giant will unite with LG, at least to assemble the larger of the two Pixel. Of course, this has not yet been confirmed.

Google Pixel 2: Design

Design Pixel and Pixel XL was adopted ambiguously. It cannot be denied that Google went along a safe path, since the devices look quite versatile, despite the fact that the rear panel has a glass insert.

If you are not a fan of the Google Pixel design, we have some bad news. Google Pixel 2, most likely, will be similar to its predecessor with a few minor differences. This means that you can see a metal case, a small bezel with two front stereo speakers, and a glass panel at the back. However, the glass will no longer surround the fingerprint scanner, which nevertheless remains on the back of the device.

It is expected that the rear end will look the same for both smartphones, but the front end will be different. For Pixel 2 XL was selected frameless design. And this means that the smartphone should have small frames around the screen. This makes a lot of sense, because it is expected that a device equipped with a 6-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9 will be more compact compared to other devices with the same screen size.

Google Pixel 2: Price

The series Google Pixel last year was far from cheap. And although we all hope that the price of Pixel 2 will be more affordable, this will most likely not happen. Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will remain in the premium price category and will either cost as well, or even more than their predecessors.

In this price category, Google will not be easy to compete in the market. It is believed that the technical giant sold a million units of the Pixel series, which may seem like a large number, but in fact it is not impressive. Samsung, for example, sold 5 million Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices in only 26 days. Huawei plans to sell a total of 10 million smartphones P10 and P10 Plus.

To increase sales, it would be best for Google to cut prices, as this would make the company’s smartphones more competitive in the market. As mentioned, this is unlikely to happen, which means that you will have to fork out to buy Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL.

October is expected to be the month of Google Pixel 2 release date.
