But sometimes writers might feel somewhat uncomfortable when it comes to the moment they need to publish their work. It is possible this feeling leads to a creative breakthrough. Removing negative information from Google comes from people engaging with your content and pages more than the negative.

Facebook actually conducted a study on posts people write but decide never to publish, also called self-censorship. Over a span of 17 days they tracked the activity of 3.9 million users. They found that 71% of users typed out at least one status or comment and then decided not to post. It turns out that about 4.5 comments end up not being posted and about 3 comments are not published. The theory behind this is that people are more likely to censor themselves when they feel their audience is difficult to define.

Since there are all kinds of different audiences on Facebook, it makes is hard to appeal to everyone. The place where they are less likely to censor themselves is on someone else’s post because they have a better understanding of the audience.

Another takeaway to get people to be more involved in your posts knows that the emotions shared online are contagious. It is not so obvious to what degree emotion can be spread online. There was a research conducted to see if there was a correlation between rainy days and negative posts. The results were that the places where it was raining, the people would post negative content and it would spread to their network even though where they live is not experiencing rainfall at that moment.
