Whether it’s a product or service than what you need to have on your site is a great looking sales page with copy that entices people to make a purchase or contact you for your services however you want to get them started.
digital marketing tactic#2: A mobile friendly website
while we’re on the subject of websites is not just important to have these days a good-looking website but your site needs to be mobile-friendly as well.
Did you know that 52.2% of all website traffic worldwide was generated through mobile phones in 2018, up from 50.3% in 2017, and 0.7% in 2009?
This number is still growing by leaps and bounds every single year.
If your site is not mobile friendly then you are missing out on a large source of traffic and an opportunity to collect leads and make sales.
Most website builders these days are mobile-friendly so whether or not you’re using Wix or WordPress your site is most likely to be mobile-friendly.
However, if you have not updated your website in a few years you’re going to want to check to make sure that your site is mobile-friendly and if not then you will want to look at updating your website.
So how do you know if your website is mobile-friendly?
Here are three easy ways that you can check to see if your website is mobile-friendly:

Take a look at what your website looks like. Is it cut up jumbled does it look like a mess? If so, then your website is most likely not responsive or mobile-friendly and you will want to take a closer look.
If you do not pass this first test you’re going to want to go on to number two

Digital marketing tactic #3: An Optimized Website
a website that is optimized. what do I mean here well your website should be optimized for a couple of things let me list them here for you
- Your website should load fast. Speed is important especially for people who are on mobile devices. If your site does not load fast they’re more likely to leave and never visit your site again. You will want to make sure that your site loads quickly so that you will retain your website visitors longer.
- Your website should be SEO optimized.
What do I mean by that? I know it probably sounds complicated but SEO optimization should not be overly complicated. What you want to do is make sure that your website pages and content are optimized with keywords and content that your customers are looking for.
- Your website should have a great user experience
This is super important to Google. Build a good customer experience so visitors have places and options to go for more information.
How do you know if your site is optimized for a good user experience?
You will want to look at your bounce rate. Your bounce rate is calculated when someone comes to your site and leaves after visiting one or more pages. Ideally you want your site visitors to view multiple pages and spend time on your site.
When this is happening your bounce rate declines and that is a good thing.
digital marketing tactic #4: Create Great Content
Creating content is one of my favorite and most effective marketing tactics. When done correctly, your content can generate the most amount of traffic, leads and sales for your business.
What do I mean by creating great content?
great content is content that relates back to your products and services and is of interest to your target market that’s how I would divine define it.
how much great content do you need to create on an ongoing basis to get results?
we handle thousands of pieces of content for our clients here.
What we have found is that quantity is not important so the good news is that you do not need to create a piece of content every single day to have a make a positive impact. All it takes is to find the topics that your ideal client is interested in and relates back to your services and products.
What if your website or business brand new and you don’t have any content?
I suggest that you start by creating 15 to 20 piece good quality content probably about 500 words or less just to get started. that will help you look like you’re an expert at what you do to have a number of pieces of content on your website.
Plus it will give you an idea of what content will be of interest to your target market.
digital marketing tactic #5: Social Media
Strategically use social media to reach your target market.
You need to have a presence on a few different social media platforms so that you can reach a broader audience.
We suggest using social media strategically to share your valuable content and reach a wider audience. I suggest that you start with one platform put together a social media strategy for that platform and start by sharing your content there.
Once you have mastered one social media platform and have your content set up you can then move on to another platform.
Digital marketing tactic # 6: host value packed webinars
Webinars are still popular and one of the best ways to connect with your audience build your list and make a sale. Webinars help you to:
- Connect and interact with your audience in real-time.
- Answer the burning questions your audience might have.
- Give away real value that your audience loves to receive.
- Position yourself or your brand as a credible industry expert that people can turn to.
- Make targeted sales without a hard sales pitch.
- Generate high quality, targeted leads that convert.
- Qualify your leads and build valuable relationships with them.
We have found that people want to do business with someone that they know like and trust. Holding a webinar is a great way to start building the Know – Like – Trust factor with your audience and show them that you are the logical choice to help them solve their problems.
Digital marketing tactic # 7: Email Marketing
Use email marketing to stay top-of-mind with your prospects
It’s very important to be out on social media to build an audience they’re your most valuable asset is your email list, that’s why I mentioned in tactic #1 that you may want to build an email list as one of your goals.
Staying in touch with email marketing and to make offers to your list is one of the smartest and best ways that a small business owner can stay top-of-mind and make conversions.
How often should you use email marketing?
Ideally, you should plan on emailing your entire list once a week. However, you do not want to always use email marketing to sell sell sell. In fact, what you really want to do is to use email marketing to primarily share great content that demonstrates your expertise in solving your potential client’s biggest problems.
I always say to my clients that they should lead with content 90% or more of the time and then the of the time you should be asking for the sale.
How should you use this list of small business digital marketing tactics? My suggestion is to take this list and see how your business stacks up. Are you using all of them or only some of them?
