The Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG is a 14-inch laptop that packs in an Intel Core i5-430M  processor and dedicated ATI Radeon HD 5650 graphics, making it a powerful 14-inch laptop – at least on paper. It also claims to offer eight hours of battery life.

The Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820T-3697 is a thin laptop with a somewhat industrial, business-like design that is complimented by a slick brushed aluminum cover. Under the hood you get a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5-450M dual-core processor with Turbo Boost Technology and 3 MB L3 cache. Intel Turbo Boost  technology helps provide you with more performance when you need it. The way it works is that the processor automatically adapts its speed according to whatever you’re doing at the moment. We could also easily execute our tasks faster with simultaneous multi-window viewing, a praiseworthy innovation for those who’d like to close and open windows at regular intervals for a flake of fun (just a guess). The image clarity is good enough to keep you grooving over your favorite artists’ videos or favorite comedy flicks for long hours. The screen is definitely bright, like what we’ve seen earlier from Acer, and didn’t disappoint us with any dim horizontal angle viewing.

Overall, the Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820T is a well designed laptop that doesn’t sacrifice battery life in lieu of performance. It has some flaws – including a mediocre LED display, but for the price you’re getting a capable machine. If you want a computer that will run most of today’s latest video games, Dell Studio XPS 9100 is definitely a great option for you. However, if you’re looking for a computer that will render a 1080p video as fast as possible while rendering some 3D graphics there are probably better options out there for you.

Dell Studio XPS 9100 features an Intel Core i7-980x processor clocked at 3.33Ghz, up to 24GB of DDR3 RAM, a Radeon HD 5970 graphics card with 2GB of RAM. Of course, this configuration is going to run you quite the premium considering the base model features only a 2.66GHz Core i7-920 processor and a Nvidia GeForce G310 graphics card with 512MB of RAM.

The new Studio XPS 9100 looks just the same as its predecessor on the outside and sports the same basic options and ports, internally there’s a 525W power supply with enough juice for a Radeon HD 5970 2GB graphics card (a $580 option) and slots for up to 24GB of DDR3 memory.

Dell launched its new Studio XPS 7100 desktop PC with optional AMD six-core and quad-core processors with prices starting at $499 plus $12.95 for shipping.

The base configuration features an AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz quad-core processor, 3GB RAM, 500GB 7200 rpm hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner, Gigabit Ethernet, 2GB of Dell Online Backup for one year, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. On the other hand a gamer could save money by configuring a system with an Athlon II X4 quad-core processor and limit the hard drive to 320GB, but add the 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5870 card for the best frame rates and large screen support.
