The very first thing that science can do is to wipe out already existing systems and traditions, from manual trains to electronic subways, from post mails to emails to social messaging, from landline telephones to mobile devices. Now even the new trends are trying to somehow intrude into the world’s organized education system, including its books for educative purposes. Of course, with all the demands for new technologies, it is inevitable that the demands for electronic textbooks might just happen sooner or later, and in this case, it is definitely sooner.

But really, how will these digital textbooks fare in the next five years? Let’s take a look into this comparison.
A five year projection for the sales of digital textbooks is assumed to increase to 18.8% while the printed books are expected to go down in production to 85% as a number of people would already be using the digital textbooks. Investments wise in leading countries, South Korea is currently investing $2 billion to make sure that their books by 2015 would be digital, and it has less than 50 million people. If considered in the US perspective, that’s about $10 billion dollars and the US having 312 million people. About $5.5 billion worth of new textbooks are printed per year that means several trees are cut down for the printing. Digital textbooks are assumed to be cheaper because you can use them over and over again, since only the books and not the devices themselves will be new per year. However, even if trees are not cut down, the materials used for the production of the devices for the digital textbooks will probably have effects on the environment as well. The trees are cut down, but paper’s biodegradable thus it cannot harm the environment. Whereas plastic and metal? Are definitely non-biodegradable, so how can the world get rid of them?

Really then, the things above are only considering the comparison between the production of the two. How about the effects on students? Online Education shows the advantages of using digital textbooks in the form of iPads in learning. Although it is true that such can make learning more fun for students, how about its long time effects? Consider this, how will the students learn how to write if they are automatically introduce to the use of technology in learning? Surely, clicking on things is not equivalent to writing.

Flywheel technology is an alternative to chemical batteries and the technology source of efficient and powerful race cars. Flywheel technology has become popular simply because it stores energy that could have been wasted in other motor systems. But the usefulness of flywheel technology may not just be for race cars, but it is slowly being integrated into the subway systems of large cities. It is believed to be able to provide cities an affordable power system that would probably bring down the crown expensive power suppliers.

How will it exactly store energy in subway systems? Let’s take a look into its mechanics. When a subway station hits its brakes, energy is dissipated in large amount. Most modern trains thus run reversely their electric motors so they can lessen the energy released as heat into a grid that absorbs the energy flow. Flywheels however capture the heat instead and send it back as energy to the grid. When the previous system wastes a lot of energy, the flywheels conserve what are wasted.

What consists a flywheel system? Flywheels have large spinning discs held in magnetic bearings that are frictionless. These can spin up to fifty thousand revolutions in a minute. They have strong steel hubs, dual mode motor or generator and high end system controls. The four components are reportedly able to provide a 20 year lifespan of energy source without needing to be maintained.

The fact that flywheels can cut energy costs is the reason why they are really getting popular. In 2002 even, the proprietor of strong flywheel systems in rail industries, Vycon, has almost made things really work out when they first installed flywheels in a New York City subway. It was just that although the installation was successful, it was still difficult to make the whole system go in full time use at that time. Presently though, Vycon has already addressed this problem.

Vycon wants to see whether the technology will work in places outside US, specifically in China and India, but considers these areas as too far away for the second opportunity of installing flywheels. Such places would have been ideal because of their stop and go subway lines emphasizing short powerful bursts of power. Due to the distance concern, Vycon has considered current discussions with Sacramento, Denver and Los Angeles officials for a series of flywheels system trials.

The finger tip camera was introduced for Derek Zoolander by the longest running catalogue of America, the Hammacher Schlemmer. With regards to its functionality it won’t probably award winning however this finger tip camera is said to be the world’s smallest camera. This world’s smallest camera weighs only half an ounce and over one inch in all dimensions. The General Manager of Hammacher Schlemmer Fred Berns said, “Although the World’s Smallest Camera is only slightly larger than a marble, it takes still images and records video just like much larger cameras.”

The important of devices employed by Cold War-era operatives for intelligence gathering, the camera appears to require Lilliputian agility, yet its one-button operation provides easy picture taking. With a single snap of the camera you can surely captures several images of your target.

The World’s Smallest Camera features automatic focus. It has 2 megapixel image sensor and point and shoots 1600 x 1200 resolutions. The AVI video frames 30 per-second and has 640 x 480 resolutions. You can save your captured images on a 2 GB micro SD card. The most outstanding about this camera can operate 30 minutes if it is full charge.

Aside of America’s claim to be the world’s smallest camera, Japan’s Chobi Mini Digital Camera also claim to be the world’s smallest camera it measures 1.7 inches by 1.1 inches by less than half an inch and weighs feather light. Regardless of its diminutive structure, this snapper boasts functions that put it almost on par with cameras from big brands. The Chobi captures images at 2,048×1, 536 pixels and records videos at 1,280×960 resolution, which is considered high-definition by industry standards. The camera charges via an included USB cable and can be fully juiced in about 120 minutes. Storage is in the form of microSDHC cards.

If you have enough money then you can buy the $99.95 worth of camera. Remember this camera is designed for intelligence work, that’s why it will cost you a lot in your pocket, but it is worthwhile if you have this camera and then you can records all the videos of your target. Starts spying!

Can you name at least four well-known X-Ray technicians in our history? I can name four Scientists who contributed and revolutionized X-Ray technology for the advancement in our history. These outstanding scientists are Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen, Nikola Tesla, John Ambrose Fleming and George Chapline Jr.

Let’s discuss their achievements:

Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen – he is the father of the X-Ray. Although he was not the first person discover that cathode ray tubes produced strange radiation, however he was the first person took the action about the mysterious radiation. He in-printed scholarly papers and describes comprehensively the mysterious radiation. Rontgen published X-Ray photographs of his wife’s hand as experimental subjects. And many researchers used hand as the subject resulting virulent hand cancer up to their death.

Nikola Tesla – He is also known as all around bad ass and a revolutionary X-Ray technician, before Rontgen’s comprehensive explanation of X-Rays. He first warned the scientists that too much X-Ray exposure could be harmful to the exposed body or parts of the body.

John Ambrose Fleming – He has no relation to Alexander Fleming who discovered the Penicillin. He invented and responsible to the vacuum tube; vacuum tube is the origin of X-Ray machines until it develops to silicon chips. Before the invention of Fleming’s vacuum tube, here was Crookes tubes. Crookes tube generated X-Rays by simply focusing the electrons from the cathode to an anode. Fleming invented the vacuum tube because he noticed that the electron couldn’t travel perfectly in Crookes tube. Just imagined if J.A Fleming didn’t discover the vacuum tube, what would be the result? Tesla was right it will lead to a virulent cancer.

George Chapline Jr. – He focused massive amounts of X-Rays generated by nuclear explosion. George was one of the most prominent team of physicists in the United States of America. The grand plan was that, the United States of America will maximize the nuclear X-Ray lasers to shoot down their enemies in just a swoop of the laser. Aside of swooping their enemies, there was a fact that US will put nuclear bomb in the outer space against to their enemies.

The new Facebook apps meant to track and share the things you want to share, like music. Facebook in its newly Open Graph campaign will legally share your music to your friends and your friends to you. Cool right? Yes it is cool, but would it be cool if you find out that there are missing features in FaceBook music ecosystem?

Spotify is one of those music industry that facebook introduced however there are five missing features in all these initiatives especially in music. First is how the True Music Sharing is. We’re talking about the right to choose. The problem is that it is already set-up music apps. The user has a right somehow to choose what music they want to listen because they have their own taste. Why spoon feed the things that they don’t wanted to. Got the point?
The second missing link is real time group listening. Why Facebook did not launch the ability to join the listeners on a station in real time so that people can have a comment in the chat room.

The Third missing link is the Music tab in the Ticker. People are only interesting on what people are listening, I’m not interested on who are my friends be friended. If the app is only for the music then the music activity should be shared as is.

The fourth missing link is apple. During the campaign on Facebook’s music ecosystem the Apple Company is nowhere to find. Because Apple has so many things to do they are still preparing for their iCloud. And besides they are not there to sell their music, and also Apple has a pride of coming in Facebook music campaign.
The Last one is the Independent Developers. Facebook did not notice this one. If service is sharing then why independent developers have no room in facebook? By this somehow could encourage every individual to make some platform of music and let others see it as we are talking about service is sharing? Let the user decide on what to play this is the true service of sharing.

Daniel Ek the CEO of music service Spotify visits the founder of Facebook in California. As Mark Zuckerberg make a big announcement that the company will unleash new waves of applications on Facebook. This is called Open Graph.

In the Open Graph, you simply share your friends what video you are watching, what music you are listening, what books you are reading and others. Media is part of Facebook initiative to really keep social in touch with your friends and families. Sharing your profile to your friends is cool. Aside you’re sharing your recent activities to your friends; you are actually sharing your private information. Hope you’ll share yours to mine and mine to yours.

The Open Graph came from the idea of “LIKE” button which signifies that you are agreeing with the user. Like button is just a simple form of self expression but the management thought of a greater idea that could improve the LIKE button.
Aside of the Like button, the friend list is also important to the application. Because in Facebook aside of what Zuckerberg’s telling that service is sharing, you can now hone your friends in your friend’s list whether if it’s your close friend or acquaintances only. Still privacy matters in here.

As The CEO of Facebook Zuckerberg said, “The whole point of this is that you use this app instead of whatever you were using before — because you want to discover things about your friends and share your activities with them,’ he says. “We’re not trying to make everyone use this stuff. Everyone has to make a choice up front to use it, and I think they’ll be signing up pretty clearly because they want their friends to be able to see this stuff. They were probably be a set of people whose reaction is just, ‘Wow, I don’t want any service to know all of the stuff that I listen to, just because it is a lot of information.’ But our belief is that people own their data and they should be able to share it or put it wherever they want.”

The OPERA experiment released a paper that emphasizing Neutrinos travels faster than the light. The OPERA team during on its initial coverage incredibly figures out that a Neutrinos traveling beyond the speed of the light. What an effort to make such experiment become accurate. Distance errors, time of flight errors and the timing of neutrino production are the three sources to measure the such timing. In a small portion of paper the neutrinos was discussed on how those potential errors be deducted. Then the study of these errors continued until such announcement that neutrinos is faster than the speed of the light.

Through proton beam the neutrinos are produced. By hitting the fixed target by the protons the target will produce unbalanced particles which will eventually releases neutrinos.

OPERA team calculated the difference between the speed of the light and the speed of the neutrinos. There’s 60ns gap between the arrival and speed of light.

There are many reasons why such experiment would only lead to skepticism. Example of this is the GPS signal, the neutrino speeds acquired from the supernova, etc. If this experiment will be justified as faster than the speed of light meaning it is the end of Einstein’s theory.

The journey, because they pass through matter completely unscathed whereas the others do not. The now pure neutrino beam takes less than 3 milliseconds to travel the 730km between CERN and Gran Sasso, and the neutrinos are detected by apparatus belonging to the OPERA experiment, consisting of around 150,000 bricks of photographic film interleaved with lead plates. In the meantime, the physics community will be looking through the paper, trying to spot unaccounted for sources of error. There are two other similar neutrino detectors in use—T2K and MINOS—and they’ll undoubtedly be looking into working out the timing of their hardware with the same sort of thoroughness OPERA has.

The OPERA team will be having a field day, they will try to study further their experiment and eliminate the potential errors of the experiment. It will take more years to have a chance to see among ourselves the so called faster than the speed of light.

The new innovative design of Microsoft Smartphone has been patented. The hardware design of Smartphone has a slide-out section; this slide out section has several modules. It includes QWERTY keyboard, gaming pad a battery pack. The Smartphone can also act as TV especially when you connect it to the media hub, the keyboard can also be used as a controller.

The slide-out of the new design of Smartphone could also be fun, especially if your Smartphone has a gaming pad. As long as Xbox and Windows Phone continued to integrate then it would be much more fun.

If you want comfortable e-mail, the QWERTY keyboard is useful; this will make you comfortable especially when you are writing long emails. The Smartphone of Microsoft windows has a tight social media integration, this would simplify your connection and keeping touch with your family, friends.

I could imagine spreading Live Tile-based UI into dual screens that could check the status updates, watch video, could check email and etc. these abilities are better if this is on the slide-out and not on the folding style double screen.
Isn’t it nice when you’re travelling around the world and the battery pack of your phone could last for a long day or weekend? This is cool especially if you don’t have access to an outlet for charging. And if you’re lost you can always use your offline map app. isn’t it great? And if you are bored because you’re lost in nowhere you can always play games in a wireless game pad. If you feel gorgeous in nowhere while tracking your path in map app. you can take pictures of yourself.

Does the design practical to you? I think it is practical for now a days, Smartphones are being shared among the family members, because you can web surfing, play games, get picture or even look connect your video hub in your TV so that you can watch your favourite movie on the big screen. Most recently the Smartphone can work in a larger accessory like Motorola Atrix and its laptop port. There are only two things you should keep an eye for, don’t misplace the modules and always protect your slider from dirt or debris that could damage your Smartphone.

Lunar Rainbow or commonly known as moonbow are a reflected light of the moon rather from the sunlight. Moonbow is different from rainbow because you there are too much requirements to have a moonbow formation. Lightness and the distance of the moon are one of the elements. If you don’t have these elements in that case you cannot capture a good moonbow. Here are some collections of lunar rainbows, I would like to share it because I know these captured lunar rainbows deserves to have a great applause.

Here are the following photographs:

Rainbow At Night – According to Garry, “I am witnessing the rare event….a rainbow at night.”
Hawaii Moonbow – Full moon and a mist could create a rare moonbow.
Kamuela hawaii Moonbow – it was a toughed evening just to get this rare moonbow.
Moonbow Revisited – Moonlight could also make rainbow.
Double Moonbow – double moonbow is rare.
Origianl Moonbow – Moonbow often appears to be white.
Moonbow1 – This place is predictable to a moonbow hunter.
Have you Ever Seen Anything Like This – Rainbow at night.
Lunar Rainbow – This image was taken at the southern Cross.

Most of the photographs of moonbow are taken in the Yosemite National Park, United States National Park, California. If you want to capture one; well this is the right place for you. 100 percent guarantee you can take a picture of moonbow. The falls of Yosemite National Park is really a gifted nature especially it is very rare case to have a moonbow. Moonbow gives spectacular beauty of Yosemite and also it attracts tourists to come and witness the moonbow in Yosemite. About 80 percent moonbow pictures are came from the Yosemite National Park. You don’t need to go to other places just to witness moonbow because in Yosemite it is already given.

Moonbow is one of a kind magical phenomenon that even photographers are painstakingly shooting moonbow to get the best shot. Since it is very rare to find one, then treasure the moment and feel the camera when you are shooting the moonbow. And you captured one don’t hesitate to share it with us. We would value the moonbow as you value it as your treasure.
