HP Omni 200-5320a: Stylish Desktop:

It seems the all-in-one desktop PC is the next big thing for big-name computer vendors, with HP’s Omni 200-5320a Desktop PC the latest to make an appearance in our Labs. Aimed those looking for a stylish, compact desktop system, all-in-one PCs rarely offer cutting-edge performance, and that’s the case here.

The Omni 200 features a dated 3.2GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core, not surprisingly, its application performance can be described as moderate at best as.

The Omni 200 features a 21.5in widescreen LED-backlit, non-touch LCD panel.

With only a GeForce G210 graphics chip or videocard, little better than Intel’s integrated graphics and just passable for very casual gaming.

There’s no built-in TV tuner, either. Because they don’t have to bother with so many extras like Touchscreen, Blu-ray drive, monster GPU or surround sound – practicality is the gist of AIO PC.

There will be no problem during the operation. HP Omni 200-5320a boot up so fast yet a very quiet and draws 26W.

With a razor-sharp and lively LED Backlit that runs at 1,920 x 1,080. This AIO PC has 4GB of RAM that can store several files. Whereas the previous model of CPU fastens at 3.2GHz it can surf, edit some documents and can store entertainment programs.

Experience a rich digital multimedia world with HP MediaSmart software: get easy access to the music, movies and TV shows you love in YouTube and get acquainted through Skype.

Enjoy the built-in webcam with microphone for video chats with friends and family.

A disadvantage of the Omni however is that it is not good enough when your thinking of using it for gaming purposes, unless the games you’d like to play are the simple Facebook apps and other usual computer games.

But it is really a great piece when it comes to capacity. Its price however is $1,299, rather expensive; hopefully such will drop to make it really good buy portability.

The newest gaming motherboard comes in Shuttle-sx58h7 Pro. This one perfectly matches to the hardcore gamers who want to see the revival of high-end gaming PC builds in the previous models.

This unit is described as a bare-bone system which means that you need to purchase and install CPU, GPU and RAM drives in order to make the hardcore machine running in superb overclocking.

This bare-bone system features the Intel x58 + ICH10R for LGA1366, Support Intel Core i7 series CPU with I.C.E technology CPU heat-pipe that is overwhelming in preventing overheat.

It also has DDR3 DIMM slots which has 4GB per DIMM that can be expanded up to 16GB with a triple support channel DDR3 1066/1333/1600(OC)MHz.

Moreover, its 2x PCI-E x16 slot supports ATI Crossfire, NVIDIA SLI technology, Mini-PCIE socket and 7.1-Ch HD Audio with SPIDIF Optical Out.

It also comes very fantastic with its Gen.2.0 architecture, 500W 80 plus Bronze PSU, dual VGA Card platform and the advance data transfer connection with super speed USB 3.0 x 2 in front ports.

Its architecture is built with SATA 3.0 storage units also known as SATA 6Gb/s.

Of all the features that were laid down by Shuttle in SX58H7 Pro, the most indispensable for me is the satisfying percentage of its energy efficiency.

Apparently, it has an 80% plus efficiency guaranteed performance with a certified power supply of up to 33%.

I think this is great because we all know that we have to cooperate with the energy efficiency policy of the government due to the energy crisis. You know we have to maintain the balance of having leisure while saving for our future resources.

The Shuttle-SX58h7 is available for $649.00 at the Altech.com with a 3-year warranty.

Windows 8, the next gen Microsoft OS and Xbox 360, the seventh gen video game console are rumored to have one another’s hand giving more hype for the upcoming platform.

Lately, we have been receiving various reports on the upcoming Microsoft’s Windows 8.

We all have heard its possible look and feel down to its potential support, but probably the most recent in all of these is the Xbox 360 game; feature that will be integrated in Windows 8.

Apparently, this rumor came from a website which claims that our most favorite Xbox 360 games like L.A. Noire, Mortal Kombat and Portal 2 will be included in the new platform.

Consequently, the user may subscribe to the Xbox service like the Xbox Live.

This means that by subscribing to the Xbox Live, the PC gamers will be allowed to compete online without the Xbox gaming console. But the online gaming is said to be dealt with Windows Live Marketplace.

In view of this report, we can say that if all of these are true, there can be two poles pulling apart from each other. One is that, it will be an advantage for those gamers who don’t have the console.

It will also be very ideal to play games direct to PCs where keyboards are ready. On the other hand, this may be a disadvantage for those gamers who invested much on the consoles.

They’ve cost a lot for the consoles and all of the sudden those consoles may render less useful to them. But then again, these are just my opinions. I hope that sooner we will have a more definite news about this support.

HP TouchSmart 610: The Touchy AIO Computer:
What happens when you cross a desktop PC with a tablet?

A great way for humans to interact with machines is through touch. As proven by smartphones and tablets.

But is it really that useful when it comes to most all-in-one (AIO) computers, which is easier using a mouse and keyboard? HP sets to change that with its brand-new TouchSmart 610.

The HP TouchSmart 610 allows the entire PC to tilt 60 degrees from vertical to almost horizontal for extended touch sessions.

But why would you tilt your desktop flat on your desk? Isn’t it strange but this will make the touchscreen much easier to use when standing up at a bench literally.

The TouchSmart 610 has a full complement of high-end hardware. An Intel Core i5-660 CPU running at 3.33GHz allows a match for any of your programs, while 6GB of 1,333MHz DDR3 keeps it all lag-free even with many application programs running at once.

A Radeon 5570 provides groaning graphics and is suitable for a little spontaneous gaming. The 1.5TB HDD has plenty of space for all your files.

When tested with PCMark Vantage, the 610 scored a solid 4,211, putting it on par with most other AIO desktops.

A 23in screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 provides strong colors and deep blacks in part. When it was tilted all the way back we tended to get reflections from ceiling lights but it was manageable.

The touchscreen on the TouchSmart 610 uses an optical multi-touch system that provides accurate tracking with fingers, a stylus or whatever else you happen to be holding.

The touchscreen is just right in terms of pressure and response. It responds best to direct touches and confident sweeps rather than jabbing and flicking. The TouchSmart’s sensitivity can be difficult at first, leaving users puzzled.

HP also throws in a whole raft of connectivity on top of powerful specifications, not to mention great extras like the digital TV tuner and Blu-ray drive, making for one of the most well-rounded models available.

The included speakers are surprisingly good and could easily be used for a range of multimedia playback. If you can afford it, it’s well worth the outlay.

As usual, you can find the HP online for a few hundred dollars less than its $1,399 RRP.

Available from Hewlett Packard, retailing for $1,399.
Rating: 7/10

The iMac from Apple will most certainly undergo som changes in 2011.
For the recent years, we all know that Apple is always taking the lead for technology innovation. And we have seen their stances on the various updates they have done on the latest iMac 2011.

Based from the previous discussions, we described the iMac 2011 as the first desktop to offer Thunderbolt I/O technology. And if we try to recall, the Thunderbolt technology which was developed by Intel is the fastest data transfer technology in town. Aside from the high performance, you can also get the flexibility and simplicity in this new technology.

This gives us the reason that changes in iMac 2011 mark the differences between the new and the outing going model of iMac. According to Apple, the updates in iMac 2011 include changes in graphics, processor and the port, but surprisingly its price remained the same as the 2010 model.

To be specific, there are two choices which you can opt for the processors, it can be either Intel Core 5 or Core i7, of which you can upgrade to 3.4GHz. Also, its Thunderbolt-powered port can be easily connected to HDMI and VGA.

Moreover, its GPU is supported with the latest AMD Radeon, of which AMD Radeon HD 6750M, AMD Radeon HD 6770M and AMD Radeon HD 6970M are the three optional models. In addition, its camera comes with the FaceTime HD features that makes real-time video calling as clear as you want video callings to be. The sharp images it produce is one of the best features in iMac camera.

Do you like the changes in iMac 2011?

Asus has recently brought us an astounding all-in-one 3D PC. It packs an Intel Core i7 740QM CPU and 4GB of 1,333MHz DDR3. You also get an NVIDIA GTX460M GPU with 1.5GB of RAM plus a 1TB HDD. The 23.6in screen has a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and as mentioned is 3D capable. You also get a Blu-ray player, webcam, TV tuner and wireless keyboard and mouse.

General performance is very good, with the ASUS pulling a 6,324 PCMark Vantage score. The GTX460M is not the most powerful GPU but can handle some moderate gaming. Under the performance setting, the ASUS scored P7126 in 3DMark Vantage and 77 FPS in Left 4 Dead 2 with all settings on high.

To test the 3D capabilities we used Batman: Arkham Asylum. You only get a single pair of 3D glasses with the XVT but you can buy another pair for around $200. The 3D is good, with little crosstalk between views and only a small drop in performance. Still, the ASUS is not a hardcore gaming PC so the extra functionality is a bit of a waste. The touch screen is not at all useful for gaming, though it’s responsive enough for general OS navigation.

You do get a Digital TV tuner but the XVT wouldn’t be our top choice for watching spectacular visuals. Surprisingly the sound is semi decent, especially for use with less demanding applications such as video chat.

While technically competent, the ASUS is expensive with its Australian pricing $2,899. It’s worth it if you want some sort of 3D capable wall mounted touch controlled interface.

With the latest releases of different electronic gadgets, here comes the latest from RIM. This is the all new PlayBook that could really change your outlook on RIM.

If you treat RIM as just another hardware maker, then think twice. Today, the PlayBook is now the top-performing tablet in the 7in screen size. This size according to Editor Tony Sarno is perfect. The unique features of this playbook are true multi-tasking OS that can run amazingly with virtual machines.

The multi-tasking power of the OS is shown off by the fact that the PlayBook is the only tablet which lets you play a full 1080p movie on a HDTV via its HDMI out port, but still let you use other applications on the device at the same time. It is also superb with its gesture-based navigation and snappy performance. The number of apps will be limited for QNX while applications for Android will be available later this year.

Add to that, RIM has reached the success on delivering your email, instant messages, and diary and contact books smoothly down a pipe. It is so secure that not even the hottest hacker in the Middle East and India could crack it. However, the PlayBook is an incomplete device, needing to be paired with a Blackberry handheld to display your Blackberry email and ride off its internet connection in W-fi hot spot.

Despite of the disappointing facts, we were impressed by the tablet’s UI. One point for this good impression is that it lets you dispense with buttons and icons that perform basic navigation entirely with gestures. The core navigation functions, such as going back to home screen, scrolling through screens and switching or closing of apps that can be done entirely with finger swipes.

Newly bought PC’s are great for it works as fast as we want it to be. However, after years of using it, we experience malfunctions and sluggish response. That’s why some of us resort buying a new one.

But buying a new PC is not at all a solution. Fortunately, it has been solved that there are two main causes for PC’s deterioration and it’s not the computer hardware. Rather, the problem is on the software. To be specific, the problem lies between the registry errors and spyware viruses. Below are some key solutions to make your PC stay fast and safe:

1. You need to have a registry scanner tool that will scan, identify and fix registry errors that causes the PC’s slow response. One of the most recommended scanner tools is ARO 2011 and it’s available in Support.com.

2. Never download any free software programs from companies that you do not trust and never open any email attachments unless you know and trust the sender. Lastly, make sure that you have a strong and updated anti-virus/anti-spyware removal constantly running on your PC.
