Here is what you need to know about Android ToughBook

New Tablet Perspective: Toughness:

There must be something about thin tablets, given that they lead the market when it comes to devices and pcs, but perhaps the public and techno fans have take it for granted that other than the thinness, tablet durability might also be one factor to consider when buying tablets. Fortunately, not all tablet, desktop and mobile devices manufacturer concern themselves with the idea that thin is totally in.

Panasonic has decided to come up with a ruggedized Android tablet. Panasonic is known for its Toughbook notebooks, so it isn’t really surprising if the company has designed a touch shock resistant tablet.

The new design is deemed to be launched in 2012, and the target market for the product is not the same market that has popularized Android Honeycomb contingents like Samsung, Asus, Acer, Motorela, Toshiba and Sony. The target population then are people who may possibly give their tablets a rough environment, like those who are often outdoors and exploring.

This is of course good because the conventional market will probably turn a thumbs down to the tablet because they value thinness more.

The new Tough tablet, with a codename of CM111, is 10.1 inch with silver chassis, a number of hardware buttons upfront and wrapped with rubberised grip in the sides. It may not be as thin as the svelte and elegant iPad and Galaxy Tab 10.1 but the new unit is further designed to have a multi-touch matte-style display, one that’s good for viewing things under strong sunlight. It is also modelled to support stylus input but its 3G connectivity is optional.

So how tough is the new Toughbook tablet? CM111 will be definitely temperature tested, whether it can endure an 200 degree C oven heat atmosphere or it can outstand a cold dip in a -85 degree C water bath.

Another temperature test that will be run on the unit is whether it can also survive quick temperature changing environment. Other tests like spraying the tablet continuously with water while it’s turned on, and dropping it from a 120 cm height on slabs of concrete and wood will also be done on the tough tablet. All these procedures are actually the qualifying processes for all Panasonic Toughbook notebooks, thus, it is just logical that the same will be given to the tablet as well.

If CM111 will get through all these tests, then welcome launch for the product should be already organized as early as now.

Nothing is more annoying and frustrating than having your computer system crash down — just when you are very much into doing your work because you have a deadline to meet.

Oh yes, that is just too possible if you’re using an outdated windows system — and even when you’re using the newest windows platforms, tools and APIs, the windows BsOD is something that at times is not correctible.

A little bit on Windows 8. A preview of Windows 8 will show the user that the operating system still has the fundamental features of Windows 7.

The newest OS from Microsoft still share the speed, reliability, security and compatibility qualities of Windows7, making it part of the best operating systems Microsoft has ever programmed.

Other than these features, this OS is built for new touch-optimized interface, with a platform based on new modern web standards.

Windows 8 interface also emphasizes Metro style – something that makes things more fluid, easy to access, simple. Using such OS, you may not need to frequently remember data and where you’ve filed them. Everything can be located immediately as all start with the new start screen system.

All these, are delivered by Microsoft to accommodate the changing landscape of social technologies.

Despite the fact that Windows8 has been created to make things easier for the user, Microsoft still probably has not solved the concerns regarding BsOD cases, for which Microsoft is considered to be infamous for.

What’s new with the BsOD however is that the screen does not just go blue and deliver incomprehensible messages when the OS is about to crash, the screen displays a sad face as well – making things look like Windows 8 is sympathizing with the fact that you are probably about to lose all the information you have stored into the system.

Aside from the sad face, written on the screen too is a simpler message stating that you ran into a problem and you must reboot things.

Compared to the original message asking you a whole lot of things that you do not understand at all, this one’s making things simple for you.

But really, what is so simple about the fact that you’ve just lost some information? Nothing.

UltraBooks or Ultra-thin and Light Notebooks are really popular, and it isn’t hard to see why…

Thin and light notebooks will change today’s old notebooks. Here are the Top reasons why ultra notebooks will take over the old version of notebooks.

Ultrabooks are Intel’s two-pronged attempt to simultaneously promote the traditional notebook in the face of devices like the iPad, while preventing the further commoditization of its own products.

While linked, the two prongs are distinct enough to deserve individual examination.

Everywhere you go Wi-Fi is present, many workplaces are installing Wi-Fi so that many people can have wireless access to information.

Ports for accessibility are not needed in Ultrabooks. A majority of the things done through the ports of laptops, like storage and printer access, can be done over the air, and this feature can be seen in ultrabooks.

However, if there is really a need for a port, ultrabooks also have universal ports which would take in a USB 3G modem, a camera memory card, and others.

Work can be done anywhere using the Ultrabooks, with their full multitasking OS and real keyboards. Of course, since they’re light you won’t have hesitations in taking them with you everywhere.

DVD drives are instinct in the ultrabook language. No one uses DVD drives much these days, since everything goes through the ports.

The only purpose of a DVD drive is for installing software, but even this will soon be rare as online apps stores are much common now.

Ultrabooks can give stunning speed performance through the SSD. This is because SSD cuts efficiently program loading and booting time.

Ultrabooks may indicate user serviceability as unessential. Swapping parts like RAM and the hard dive may not exactly be present in Ultrabooks, but that doesn’t matter, afterall, notebooks are becoming so cheap now that people can always buy a new one in two or three years.

The resume from sleep system is fast in Ultrabooks. Thanks to Intel, Ultrabooks have this Rapid Start Technology which makes resume time instant even if its batter has already run out.

They are just thin and light, thus are easy to bring.

The price for Ultrabooks right now maybe costly but tech prices go down in just a short time. It won’t be long when Ultrabooks with its SSD storage will eventually become cheap that buying a laptop over the Ultrabooks would be an impractical idea.

Mac OS X Lion VS Windows:

Both Apple and Microsoft have a good system of Architecture, However they may differ on rapid improvements in its software.

These are 10 features of Apple Mac OS X 10.7 or Lion:

1. AirDrop
With the AirDrop screen, you can now transfer your files between two Mac users. Its either Wi-fi triangulation technology to get the physical positions of Mac’s computers or you can have peer-to-peer network in which you can transfer files directly.

2. Resume
Lion will take you to the next level of Resume, It is very important to know the usefulness of the Resume because it will simply bring you to the last work you quit.

3. Autosave
The Autosave feature of Apple will surely saved your good files, it will automatically saved your work and make multiple duplicate versions. Apple’s Time Machine Backup has a capacity of restoring file to a whole version from your previous version of files.

4. Virtual desktops
This one is very practical, due to some improvements Lion can now swipe between desktops through multi-touch gesture. There are no delays because of silky smooth horizontal scroll.

5. Better app switching
The new Misson Control feature in Lion is an upgraded version of Expose. Compared to window’s it is more revolutionized.

6. iCloud
Let the iCloud sync do the tasks, you don’t need to have a USB or a reader to transfer your taken photos in your iPod. You can transfer it easily then it will automatically appear in you Mac without fuss.

7. Remote wipe
You are now safe from the identity theft. You can use iCloud to log in to your account and have a request to erase the encryption keys of the Mac.

8. App store
By using iTunes store credit you can now purchased software that can be reinstalled 10x to other Macs. There is no need of serial numbers. The reinstallation is simple in just a one click away. This is one of the common problems of the in buying software because you need to be demonstrated before you can actually install the software.

9. Price
There a big discrepancies in terms of price. You will cost US$199.99 per PC to have a full version of Windows 7. Whereas, Lion costs U$29.99, the good news is that you can reinstall the software up to 10 Macs.

10. Sign documents
Here’s a miracle, get a piece of paper and sign on it, and capture the signed paper to your webcam. Finally you can have a PDF form with your signature.

It seems the all-in-one desktop PC is the next big thing for big-name computer vendors, with HP’s Omni 200-5320a Desktop PC the latest to make an appearance in our Labs. Aimed those looking for a stylish, compact desktop system, all-in-one PCs rarely offer cutting-edge performance, and that’s the case here.

The Omni 200 features a dated 3.2GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core, not surprisingly, its application performance can be described as moderate at best as.

The Omni 200 features a 21.5in widescreen LED-backlit, non-touch LCD panel.

With only a GeForce G210 graphics chip or videocard, little better than Intel’s integrated graphics and just passable for very casual gaming.

There’s no built-in TV tuner, either. Because they don’t have to bother with so many extras like Touchscreen, Blu-ray drive, monster GPU or surround sound – practicality is the gist of AIO PC.

There will be no problem during the operation. HP Omni 200-5320a boot up so fast yet a very quiet and draws 26W.

With a razor-sharp and lively LED Backlit that runs at 1,920 x 1,080. This AIO PC has 4GB of RAM that can store several files. Whereas the previous model of CPU fastens at 3.2GHz it can surf, edit some documents and can store entertainment programs.

Experience a rich digital multimedia world with HP MediaSmart software: get easy access to the music, movies and TV shows you love in YouTube and get acquainted through Skype.

Enjoy the built-in webcam with microphone for video chats with friends and family.

A disadvantage of the Omni however is that it is not good enough when your thinking of using it for gaming purposes, unless the games you’d like to play are the simple Facebook apps and other usual computer games.

But it is really a great piece when it comes to capacity. Its price however is $1,299, rather expensive; hopefully such will drop to make it really good buy portability.

Log on to Razerzone.com and you’ll see their newest Razer Gaming Laptop Switchblade UI, dubbed to be the “World’s First True Gaming Laptop.”

While it might not necessarily be the one and only gaming laptop offered in the gaming industry, with other gaming laptops like Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q898 , MSI GT683R and Eurocom Racer out in the market, Razer’s Switchblade UI certainly takes the lead with its impressive features.

If you’re a hardcore gamer then, and you’re fed up with the idea that you can’t bring along your heavy pcs anywhere so you can continue playing, then this item will suit your needs.

Razer’s Swithcblade UI is sleek, thin and black, the perfect qualities for those in want of elegance when gaming.

Oh yes, the other gaming laptops like Alienware and XPS will do, but Switchblade offers more than the convenience of having a portable gaming device, being 2.24 inches thick only. Added to its elegant features would be its light weight, only about 7 pounds, or 6.9 pounds to be precise.

That’s about 3 pounds lighter than the top rated best gaming laptop in online computer shops, the Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q898.

Also, Switchblade UI has 10 keypad buttons that are programmable and adaptive and an LCD track pad that is not only an ultra sensitive multi-touch track pad but doubles as well as a small screen that fully displays in-game information.

Furthermore, Switchblade UI gives you a 1080p visuals with its 17.3″ LED screen and a built in HD webcam.

It’s 8GB DD3 RAM allows you to do more than playing games on it, you can actually surf the web while simultaneously playing your favourite game.

The price? Switchblade costs $2,800 (USD), which is almost the same price as a MacBook Pro 17, the latest from Apple and a MacBook that has a state of the art processor thereby making it work twice as fast, a thunderbolt I/O technology with data transfer up to 10 Gbps and game changing graphics.

Although MacBook Pro 17 is a good choice for a laptop, Switchblade still gives its user an advantage when the user merely would want something that offers first rate gaming experience.

Thus Razer’s Swichblade UI, with its revolutionary, innovative design, is a top choice for a blazing benchmarked gaming world.

But with the oozing features of MSI‘s GE620DX, I think a hardcore gamer can’t miss this thing out.

In the earlier weeks, we are informed that MSI had launched the 17.3″ HD display and the SteelSeries multicolor backlit keyboard.

Amazingly, another information have told us that the same company have offered their new quad core gaming laptop. The report at tweaktown.com had given us details on the specs and features of this superb laptop.

Accordingly, GE620DX booms with the 2nd generation Intel quad core i7-2630QM processor which speeds up to 2.00GHz.

This is also supported with Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology 2.0. This technology enhances the entire performance of the laptop surpassing the core clock speed.

Moreover, its graphics is heavy with NVIDIA GeForce GT555M discrete graphics card with the support from NVIDIA’s PhysX technology and DirectX 11.

It also comes with a 2GB memory that can ultimately hold Quick Sync Video support that provides efficient ripping, synchronizing and even editing multimedia files.

Other features of GE620DX include the MSI GPU Boost Technology, which gives the multitasking quality, THX TruStudio Pro smart surround technology provides awesome sound surround and HDMI port with USB 3.0 ports that transfers in a speed of 4.8Gbps.

Add to that is the Cinema Pro technology that switches your screen into a film mode in an instant through a hotkey. With this technology, you will find that richer colors and higher resolution will be an obvious edge for your laptop.

Are you ready for the newest laptop from MSI?

Recently, in the discussion posted at google, there seems to be a problem in carrying on the Google toolbar in the updated Firefox 5 browser.

It may seem to be confusing for a non-savvy to understand this discussion, but once you get an update to an internet browser Firefox 5, then you will understand what we mean.

However, at this moment we may tell you a little bit about the difference between an Internet browser and browser toolbar.

An Internet browser is a software application that locates and displays Web pages. Few examples of it are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera.

On the other hand, a browser toolbar is the icon that we usually see in an Internet browser like the Google toolbar. But apparently in these recent days, browser toolbars are deemed as common as the Internet browser.

In view of this, Google made their own research whether is it necessary to retain their support for the browser industry or not.

Eventually, they found that the browser industry is growing in exponential that they have to cut the Google toolbar support for the latest Firefox 5, as they think that their toolbar is no longer necessary for the platform.

This trimming down of Toolbar support has made us to think that this could be the start for total removal of Toolbars in our browsers.

Admittedly, this can give rise into different views, but we think that it’s time to free our browsers with the clutter of Toolbars.

If you are still using the prior versions of Firefox, the Google Toolbar support still continues. But you can uninstall it by clicking the arrow next to the spanner icon while firefox is running, then select unistall from drop down menu.

Click the uninstall button. Another way is that you can go to the control panel, click the start button, and highlight Google toolbar for Firefox and click uninstall. Finally, your browser is now neat and clean.

Tell us your view about the Google toolbar on the comments below.
