The issue that I am having is that when I try to log into my mail account it asks for username/password then when I type them in sometimes I get in, sometimes I get the error message “LOGIN FAILED”. If I’m lucky enough to get past that page while attempting to move around in my emails, it will eventually give me the LOGIN FAILED message again. (Even when I click “remember password”.)

I’ve talked to many technicians about this issue and they’ve changed my password, reset passwords, etc. to no avail. I’ve cleaned out cookies too with no success. I’ve even made a new email account under the old one to see if that would do the same thing…. and of course it does. It happens not only on my end, but on the Comcast end too. They’ve accessed my account and when they move around, they are having the same issues. Outlook Express can’t even download my emails because of the login error it receives when attempting to get the emails.

VMware and Verizon already unveiled a new enterprise-class hybrid cloud solution that is expected to move their applications to the cloud quicker and more seamlessly, without compromising security or performance.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company makes virtualization software, which helps companies manage servers in data centers. Rather than having each piece of hardware chew on a single application, virtualization software makes it possible to run applications across multiple servers, or to run multiple applications on a single server. The new solution, which is underpinned by Verizon’s global IP network and VMware’s vSphere virtualization platform, is expected to help remove the serious barriers to cloud computing option, simultaneously enabling the delivery of “IT as a Service.”.

With the new service, in trials now and due for general availability early next year, enterprises that use VMware will be able to shift workloads out to Verizon’s CaaS (Computing as a Service) infrastructure and back again, the companies said. This could help organizations ease their way into cloud computing or take advantage of greater computing resources when necessary.

Its vShield is software for maintaining security and compliance policies, such as rule-based access controls, as those workloads are moved. Both are available now.

Pictures of the LG M17 USB LTE modem have surfaced, and from the pictures, it’s estimated that the device measures in at 6 inches long and 4 inches wide. The M17 has an internal, 2400 mAh rechargeable battery, so technically the device is portable. It also comes with a portable travel charger.

According to test reports, the M17 operates on the 700MHz LTE frequency, which will be used by Verizon. You can also see a SIM card slot on the M17 – a new feature on Verizon devices. Pricing or availability wasn’t mentioned, but with Verizon planning to roll out its LTE network later this year.

A digital locker system for movies is soon to be launched by a consortium of content providers and technology companies. The Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE) has been talking about the system for years, and has finally unveiled it as the UltraViolet brand.

The open standard backed by movie studios including Warner Bros. and technology companies such as Microsoft Corp. represents a challenge to proprietary formats from Apple Inc. and others. Those formats lock buyers of video content to limited numbers of devices, such as the iPad or Apple TV.

Consumers will be able to create a free UltraViolet Account through  participating service providers or through the UltraViolet website. DECE includes Warner Brothers, Paramount, NBC Universal, and Lionsgate, along with Microsoft, Intel, HP, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, Netflix and Comcast.

Data center and cloud infrastructure service provider Rackspace is expected to announce Monday the release of a new open-source offering that will allow users to build and launch their own internal and hosted clouds. OpenStack, which was announced Monday, will include the code behind Rackspace’s Cloud Files and Cloud Servers technology. NASA is also involved, contributing software that runs its own Nebula cloud platform.

NASA’s Nebula infrastructure cloud is installed  installed at NASA’s Ames Research Center and is in the process of being and extended  to the Goddard Spaceflight Center outside of Washington, DC. The Nebula cloud was spearheaded by Chris Kemp, who is now NASA’s chief technology officer, and in an interview with El Reg, Kemp had nice things to say about the Eucalyptus cloud fabric controller that Nebula was currently using, which is an open source clone of Amazon’s EC2 compute cloud and S3 storage cloud.

Open-sourcing Rackspace’s code will increase the rate of innovation around it, and eliminate lock-in fears among clients, which is one of the biggest obstacles to the adoption of cloud services, said Mark Collier, vice president of business development. “If we’re accelerating the industry, that’s good for us,” he said.

OpenStack will be available under the Apache 2.0 license, with RackSpace employees serving as project leads, Collier said. But the governance framework has been deliberately structured to give others plenty of say, he added. There is an opportunity for open-source cloud infrastructure to become as ubiquitous as the Apache Web server. This project could provide a huge leap forward in opening up the clouds.

T-Mobile is going to launch webConnect Rocket 2.0. webConnect modem will work with 4G speed. This webConnect is a fixed version of the original USB WWAN modem, this device supports HSPA+ network on Mac and PC, and it has the in built memory card with 16GB storage capacity .

We’re not quite of a release date on this one but we’re hearing when inventory of the current Webconnect Rocket runs out. There isn’t much else to see here, no plan changes or anything, just a makeover really. Of course we’ll update if we hear of anything special added in.
