Few years ago I was worried on how the Valve will implement the CS to Xbox 360 and PS3. As a player of CS 1.6 and a fanatic of CS, this is very difficult to learn especially if you are a first timer. This was feature in the regular PC version meaning with all the mouse control and the sensitivity in order to control your soldier and aimed the enemy accurately. But during the Expo the Global Offensive on console is aiming accurately. The formula of the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles are the same console formula of the PC version. Meaning you can take down your enemy same to the PC version.
I noticed something, because the time to play has limitation in Expo, although I’m a fan and a player of CS 1.6 version. I am not sure about this one it took a big amount of AK47 ammos to kill the enemy. This is a powerful weapon in CS 1.6 but the enemy is still up and the damage is not critical or maybe because I only have 30 to 40 minutes of gaming. I might have a poor aiming sight and took a big amount of ammos to fall down the enemy. The buying system in Global Offensive is in form of a visual wheel. This way you can buy your weapons very quickly and go to your tactical positions before the enemy.

The crosshair is different from the CS 1.6. Like me as a veteran player of CS 1.6 I won’t be enjoying using the crosshair. This is totally different from the PC version, if this is just the same the players will enjoy the moment of firing their enemies. This must be the reason why I am not able to aim fire, if ever I aimed the damage is less. In general, the new CS took me by surprise and I will wait until the d-day of Global Offensive release. I will be the first one who will enjoy the game.

The next generation Xbox console has not yet come officially, but discussions about Xbox 720 is getting hotter and hotter each day. Adding to the heat is the latest announcement from AMD that an Avatar-like graphics is to be expected from the upcoming console.

This news might be sorted as one of the speculations because neither AMD nor Xbox has given us a confirmation that the two of them are in a work for the Xbox 720.

However, as can be noted from Neal Robison, AMD’s Director of ISV Relationships, he stated that the Xbox 720 would actually have a 3D graphics feature similarly close to James Cameron’s “Avatar”.

Add to that are the Physics and Artificial Intelligence that are going to be utilized in the game.

Apparently, the present feature that we have seen and experienced in the games like Grand Theft Auto will be different in Xbox 720, as each character in this latest console will have an independent and separate act.

They will no longer act and move based on the script, but they will react based on the actions of the player. This really sounds fun and exciting, isn’t it?

Nevertheless, if this information is true, then we will see its real performance in the next couple of years at the E3 event.

Moreover, we are hoping for these big gaming developers to improve on their controllers. It’s quite strange to play with that advanced 3D capabilities in a way back 10-year old button layout. There must be a new wine for the new wineskin.

Some University of California, San Diego students are going to make use of the Kinect as a 3D scanning tool to record the positional details of the stuffs that are found.

The same technique is often performed using expensive LIDAR or Light Detection And Ranging systems which is an optical remote sensing technology that can measure the distance to, or other properties of a target by illuminating the target with light, often using pulses from a laser.

They will be using a hacked Kinect system that was created by the California Institute for Telecommunications and IT.

How does it work? It taps into the Kinect data stream blending 3D positional data and color video texture maps to make the scans that can then be inserted into a virtual world.

Through this, it allows the students to study something without actually having to touch it.

Touching something thousands of years old means a lot of care; given that these objects may be fragile so with the hacked Kinect system this will not be a problem anymore.

However the Kinect sensor can only be used indoors but they are working on enhancements that will allow the hacked sensor to be used outside.

At the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), a research project entitled Flying Machine Arena has shown the platform for motion control research.

To date, the proponents of this project have started working this platform last summer of 2008.

The interaction of the Flying Machine Arena have been showed using the flying of quadrocopters using the gesture control or what we have known as the Kinect Technology.

According to the video that has been posted below, you can see that by the arm gestures of a pilot it can fly the quadrocopters in any direction he wishes.

Like for example, when the pilot raises his right arm, the quadrocopter flies in a direction, while the left-arm movement of the pilot drives the quadrocopter to flip. This is really awesome.

The interfacing of Microsoft Kinect rig to the flying machine enables the pilot to control its flight by mere arm gestures.

To explain further, the Microsoft Kinect is originally designed for Xbox 360 game consoles of which it enables the user to control and interact with the game console without having to touch a game controller. The control is aimed through gestures and spoken commands.

While the original use of Kinect is for commercial, later Microsoft has released a non-commercial Kinect software that will allow other developers to write “Kinecting.”

- Poor Weapon Balance -Unlocking and switching off to another weapon must be smoother and snappier.
