No one knows the Nintendo Wii 2 release date as of yet, but rumors say that we can expect something to happen this spring!

We are already informed that there is a drought in Nintendo game this April. The company has been silent on the possible titles that they will be releasing. We are left with doubts if there is something to hope for from them. However, the analysis posted over Kotaku, the blog that focuses on video games is leading us to think otherwise.

According to the site, there seems to be a pattern that Nintendo is following over the past years. In their release of the game titles, it can be followed that on 2002, we already experienced the same Nintendo game drought. But they surprised us after that long silence, because of that; we are compelled to believe that the same characteristics are happening today. For that reason, the season that we are entering now only means that Wii 2 is about to be revealed this spring.

So much for the anticipation, what we have known about the next home video gaming console of Nintendo is limited. As of now, Wii 2 is the name what we usually refer to the anticipated successor of the current Wii machine. Although, Nintendo is not announcing it officially, it can be implied that there is a great possibility that Wii 2 really exist.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s President said in one of the interviews, “We are always preparing for the next hardware…We are under development.” The President made a remark that they are currently developing a next console to Wii.

Still we are left with speculations, but there’s nothing wrong in waiting for this next console.

Nintendo last year changed the Wii games for “adult” titles that are highlighted with a black border, and it seems that the trend has moved to the new 3DS now, too. The first game to hit shelves with a black case was Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles of Capcom.

While not change the fact 3DS ‘Japanese box art template is deceptively simple, it does at least look classier just over the border strongly running target in front of the case in most other cases. On the Wii, the staff of black art box (as in Wii graphics with the mark on the front) was used for all games that earned him a “ZERO C ” (the equivalent of “son” or “M15″ ) rating or higher. The first game was wearing the same color scheme in 3DS is Ubisoft Splinter Cell 3D.

The reason behind the decision is simple: Parents may not notice an inappropriate age rating on the corner of the box, but you can not miss the fact the box for a game like this is black when most the others are not.

Are you bored of playing Call of Duty using Keyboard on your PC?, then check out this to make a change in it. Just interconnect your PC up to Microsoft’s Kinect and Nintendo’s Wii Remote for some added FPS awesomeness, and configure your PC to support those controllers, load up Call of Duty. One keen gamer who calls himself Demize2010 has done just that, sharing the impressive results on YouTube for all to see.

The impressive hack shows off the PC version of Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare being played with both a Kinect and a Wii Remote–now that has to be one gaming collaboration you thought you would never see. During gameplay you would use the Kinect to carry out various gesture-based in-game movements, such as leaning, ducking, reloading, and stabbing. For those more ‘traditional gamers’ out there, Demize2010 promised on his YouTube page that all the demonstrated gestures do work while sitting down too. Check out the Video below and feel how call of Duty works on gesture.

TRON: Evolution is an immersive third person action-adventure game that pulls the player into the unique digital world of TRON. Gamers explore TRON’s cities using the free running phenomenon Parkour, navigate among unique rebel factions, and fight an epic battle against a dictator’s seemingly unstoppable army in the prequel story to the highly anticipated film, TRON: Legacy.

For some reason known only to Propaganda Games, Tron Evolution is a mid-quel that takes place between the original film and Tron Legacy. Now to explain it I’ll have to spoil some plot points for the second film, so if you haven’t seen it yet, be forewarned.

As it is explained in the second film, Kevin Flynn has been spending his spare time on a closed mainframe of his design working on building the “perfect system.” He designed a new version of CLU and brought Tron over from ENCOM’s mainframe to help him with this endeavor. During this time, these new anomalous entities called “Isos” appeared. As best as I can figure out, they are programs that have evolved into a sort of new lifeform, whose functions and coding offer the key to the mysteries of the universe. Or something. The movie plays loose with them, so it’s not made overly clear. According to Tron Legacy, CLU comes to see these Iso’s as imperfections in the system, and so begins what boils down to cybernetic genocide, simultaneously cutting off Flynn’s access to the real world. The game seeks to tell the backstory of how CLU pulled all of this off, and how Flynn initially tried to prevent it.

The single-player campaign is composed of seven lengthy, linear stages, guiding Anon and Quorra from Tron City to Ajira, the Outlands and several other vistas in The Grid. Evolution is played mostly from a third person perspective, though when in combat, it will lock into an almost birds-eye view. Anon mostly makes use of his parkour skills to get from A to B, being able to run along walls, grab onto ledges and leap over gaps (think Prince of Persia.) Though fun at times, it’s not entirely fluid and the small gallery of perilous obstacles – such as beams of energy – fail to impress, having not been integrated into the game particularly well.

Online Multiplayer is also present in Tron: Evolution, though it too suffers from the flaws of the single-player experience. Combat and navigation are handled exactly the same, though energy supplies are more limited to balance out the playing field. It can get incredibly repetitive and even messy at times, especially when you get players spamming area attacks. Game types include your regular team based objectives such as Team Disintegration and Power Struggle, with a couple of free-for-all variants.

Key Game Features:

High Mobility Combat – Battle the enemies of the TRON world with your light disc using a dynamic blend of free running and martial arts movement on your heroic mission across the Grid.

Vehicular Action – Fast paced exciting light cycle racing and light disc combat on the digital grid.

Bridge the Legacy – TRON: Evolution is the prequel story to the film TRON: Legacy and unlocks mysteries in the rich TRON mythology.

Online/Multiplayer – TRON: Evolution has an innovative online experience featuring 10 person multiplayer, persistent character progression, and light disc and light cycle battles.

Voiceover Cast – Voiceover by actress Olivia Wilde as Quorra and Bruce Boxleitner as Tron

The Kindle and the iPod touch seems dominated gadget sales – but what about game consoles? They were not mentioned, but the best-selling product ranks give an initial idea who won the season.

The best-selling video game hardware, the PS3 Blu-ray remote control # 2, followed by the Nintendo controller bundle to # 8 and # 10 Kinect sensor. Looking at the line, we find the Wii Fit bundle # 12 on the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller # 15, the Wii Wheel beam # 16, the black Wii Remote Plus # 20, Black Wii Nunchuk controller # 22 and the PS3 Wireless Controller # 24.

The first real game console is listed at # 30 – the black Wii bundle. Nintendo came in ahead of the Xbox 360 250 GB Kinect beam # 34, the 250 GB Xbox 360, the 160 GB PS3 at # 49, # 57 on the Wii red, white Wii at # 73, the 320 GB PS3 bundle Move at # 152 and the least popular game console – the PS3 to 320 GB # 435.

If these results, to be taken with a grain of salt to interpret as they do not represent the entire holiday season, we would tend to say that video game sales on all accessories and controllers of this season. The Wii may be the best selling game console again, despite the renewed appeal of the PS3 and Xbox 360. Move the PS3 starter bundle is listed at # 44 by Amazon, well before the regular PS3 and the PS3 bundle.

The best-selling games seem to have played Call of Duty: Black Ops for Xbox 360 (# 1), followed by the PS3 version (# 3) and Just Dance for Wii (# 4). Sony’s Gran Turismo 5 came in at # 23. Central dance was the most popular game for Kinect (# 5). Move the most popular PS3 games (other than the supplied sports game Champions Sports) NBA 2K11 was at # 64.

Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has said in an interview that Nintendo could consider cutting the price of a Wii console in half to boost demand. Nintendo focuses too much on its own franchises, says EA’s John Riccitiello.

“I would say [Nintendo] did exceptionally well in 2007 and 2008, started tapering in 2009 and 2010, and…I think if they were to price [the Wii] down to $99, they would explode,” Riccitiello told IndustryGamers in an interview posted yesterday. Riccitiello believes that a recent slump in sales of Nintendo Wii consoles could be avoided again by cutting the console’s price in half to just $99. Additionally, he suggested that Nintendo should do more to promote third-party titles than focusing so much on its in-house titles.

He also thought that Nintendo could improve sales by making more effort to support third party titles, rather than focusing almost all of its attention on its own franchises. “I think it’s a frustration for all third-party publishers, when a platform holder does less to promote third-party content. A great third-party company is Apple, a company that’s all third-party content,” he stated. “I don’t care whether it’s Mario or Twilight Princess or GoldenEye; it was their own content. I’m going back to N64, and I can go back to SNES if you want, but they’ve never really been a heavy third-party supporting system.”

As a top third-party publisher on the Nintendo Wii, Riccitiello is especially concerned about the popularity of games on the Mario creator’s console. He told IndustryGamers that he’s frustrated by Nintendo’s penchant of doing “less to promote third-party content” than its own games.

It’s hard to argue with the idea of a $99 dollar Wii selling exceptionally well, but whether Nintendo would consider dropping the price that far is much less certain. The Wii costs around $200 at most retailers and it seems more likely that Nintendo would split the difference and go with $150, if/when it does decide to lower the price.

Highlights from the trailer are the talked about story elements, which was said to be one of the most important parts of the games process. Having access to the Disney archives also played a big part within the story elements, with Warren Spector claiming they had so much material, it with a difficult process to choose which characters and ideas would make it into the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops has shown a roaring success in it’s first month of sales, as Call of Duty: Black Ops sold 8.4 million copies Worldwide in its first month on sales, putting it in seventh place in NPD’s top ten games (by sales) of all time.

According to Gamasutra, 4.9 million units of “Black Ops” made it to consumers playing on Xbox 360 consoles. The Playstation 3 ate up another 3.1 million of the game’s monthly launch sales. The rest of the total amount, 400,000 units, was split between sales for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, and PC. However, in regards to the latter, copies of the game sold via digital distribution (a la Valve’s Steam service) were not taken into account for NPD’s figures.

The massive rush for the game, which earned a cool $650 in its first five days after release, has propelled it into seventh place in NPD all time list – and Christmas has not even arrived yet. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, as you may expect, is pretty chuffed. He told Gamasutra: “The number of people playing online and the number of hours they are playing demonstrates how online gaming has become a mainstream form of entertainment and certainly validates Activision Blizzard’s leadership role in online entertainment.”

With the 8.4 million units sales figure, Call of Duty: Black Ops now accounts for one in every four new video games sold in the US last month and is now the 7th all-time best-selling software. According to NPD, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Just Dance 2 are the top-selling video games for November. However, Activision hasn’t released any reports on their November sales figure yet.

Black Ops publisher Activision have been keeping quiet about details regarding sales, although they did reveal that they had made around $650 million in the first 5 days of the game’s launch which is their largest five-day sales record so far.

The best part of Black Ops is of course, multiplayer. Treyarch has done a superb job of re-balancing the perk and weapon sets to ensure that cheap tricks have become a thing of the past. Part of this newfound excellence is the Wager Match mode set, which sees players battling it out for COD Points under very specific rule sets. Join us as we outline the intricacies of Wager Match and provide you with a few tips that will help you get an edge on the field.

Gun Game: Quite simply the best strain of Wager Match is Gun Game, a mode that sees each of the six players starting off with a weak pistol, then cycling through the entire weapon set with each kill. So for example, if you get a kill with the starting pistol, you move up to a six-shooter, then a shotgun, then through the sub machine guns, assault rifles, light machine guns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers and then finally, the ballistic knife. Whoever gets the first kill with the ballistic knife wins the game, or whoever is highest when the timer reaches zero.

Sharpshooter: This mode is quite similar to Gun Game in that you absolutely have to be proficient with the entire range of weapons available. Every 45 seconds a timer will count down and all players will be given the same random weapon. Our best advice to you here is to keep a close eye on the timer and try your best to anticipate when the next cycle is about to happen.

Sticks And Stones: In this mode, all players are given crossbows with three explosive-tipped arrows, ballistic knife and a single tomahawk. The lack of firepower may seem boring, but it actually makes for one hell of a tense experience. Our best advice to you off the bat is that if you miss with any of your crossbow shots, you are well and truly stuffed. Always aim to stick people with your arrows, otherwise the timed charge shows up on their grenade indicator, giving them tons of time to escape. Don’t go nuts with your shots as you only get three per life.

One In The Chamber: Easily the most intense Wager Match variant, One In The Chamber gives every player a pistol and a single bullet. Like Sticks And Stones, you really have to make every shot count. If you miss then you’re only left with your knife. Hit someone and you instantly kill them and get a bonus bullet back for your trouble. It’s tricky, but we have some tips to help you out.
