No Worthy Contender for Apple’s iPad Devices

Rumors are flying around regarding the release of a new iPad – the iPad 3. There have been alleged reports that the iPad 3 will be released in the last months of the year and that the new device will be completely different in its design from the first two iPad tablets, making the supposed product’s price quite more expensive than the latest iPad from Apple.

Apple however disputes the ideas believing that iPad 2, which has been released early this year, is still the lead tablet device in the technology market. Given this, there is no rush then regarding the launching of a new iPad tablet, not until 2012 anyway.

Mark Moskowitz, an analyst from JP Morgan claimed that he had consulted with different industry sources and they have informed him that the device really will only be making an appearance well into next year still. Moskowitz said too that other tablet PC producers like RIM and Motorola have failed in toppling over iPad 2’s crown and the next to fail might be SONY itself with its newly released tablet PCs. He further said not only is the Sony tablet not as refined as the iPad but that the Android OS of the tablet has not been appropriately adapted for the tablet from its’ original format for smartphones. The only tablet so far that is probably considered to rival the iPads is the one made by Amazon. This still has to be seen first though as Amazon has not released the device yet.

iPad 2 is said to have garnered higher market shares from Android devices during this year’s second quarter. Now Apple’s market share is larger at 68.3% than Android’s 26.8%. If such is the case then clearly, Apple sets the benchmark for all tablet devices. Perhaps it might take several more attempts from other PC companies to create something that will take away the golden spoon from Apple’s mouth.

There is no doubt why there have been several reports about PC tablet manufacturers stopping their production of such devices or considering lower prices for their devices than the iPads. Who would want to compete when Apple has a very strong reputation of dominating the whole technology market with the iPad devices? Even most of the tech reports you’ll read online are about Apple.
