Automation has become an integral part of human lives, when not so long ago, it had seemed difficult to create technology that could do the things said to be exclusively done by humans alone. Well, it had seemed difficult, but clearly not impossible, thus, modernization has paved way to the creation of things that can perform what people can perform. What is being talked about here? Robots and computers doing things people do. These technologies are of course, the works of scientists of genius minds. If this pattern continues, will it mean then that a number of jobs would be practically done by robots and computers? For instance, if manufacturers of synthesized food products are using machines in creating their items and using people who can operate the machines, turn to computerization, will this indicate then that sooner or later, a whole bunch of companies would eventually be solely run by computers? What will happen to the job holders then? Will they lose their work to these computers in the end?
Although it may still be difficult to imagine a robot or computer who can serve as a lawyer, it may not too far to imagine a future with paralegal robots. To give an example even, there has been a robot that has been considered to serve as a consultant for medical doctors – the award winning jeopardy winner Watson. The most recent infographic from Mindflash has considered a list of job titles that can be done by robots and computers in much better performance and cheaper costs. The following are some of these jobs and the reasons why robots can perform them too.
Retail Clerks – virtual cashiers had started operating back in 2009, providing less costs for employee payment but more goods sold.
Paralegals – the fast sifting and analyzing of legal documents can save lawyers dollar costs per hour
Armed Forces – Fully robotic soldiers in the front lines? Surely people would prefer the no blood shed event.
Medical Transcriptionists – The Dragon Speech Recognition software will now provide the tedious work of Medical professionals.
Commercial Drivers – The Automated Car project by Google will save the company’s expenses. This automated car runs 1000 miles without human interventions.
Pharmacists – The UCSF will give you precise dosage without single error.
Customer Service Representatives – The Artificially Intelligent Call Center will have Robotics alternative for customer service.
