Demands for computer devices dictate that what are highly valued these days are those that are thin, portable and touch types. This market change emphasizes the possibility that the production of notebooks and laptops might just soon die out, especially with the notebooks, since the selling point of the said devices are actually their portability. Should these scare sole notebook producers? Considering that there are still some people out there who prefer the use of keyboards than touch pad then the emergence of touch type devices is not something that should scare them. Apple’s iPad tablets for example have certainly taken control over the market with other hardware companies trying to introduce other tablets so they can have a piece of the pie but some consumers do not really consider these devices as that appealing as they may have difficulty using them thus they prefer notebooks and netbooks. However, the coming out of sliders can actually be just the reason that might push out the demands for notebooks in the technology market.
The latest slider device from ASUS, which is the newest device in review, and other similar devices may eventually replace the notebook demands, simply because the advantage notebooks have over touch type tablets are their keyboards. The latest hardware review from HotHardware has given ASUS Eee Pad Slider a hot review and good mark, calling the device a very good radical innovation, just right with its touch technology and keyboard. Eee Sliders with their 1GB memory, 16GB/32GB storage, mixed software of Android 3.2, MyNet, Android Market, Polaris Office, Kindle Books, Zinio Magazine, Google Maps and Gmail, built in front and rear camera, microphone and stereo speakers, are certainly devices of great usability. Another plus factor is the idea that these sliders can run on batteries for 8 hours. They are just 273 x 180.3 x 17.3~18.3mm in dimensions. The price range however falls within $479 to $579. This may seem a little costly but with the functions that sliders offer their users, this price might just be small to pay.
Considering all these qualities then in sliders alone, how will the netbook technology fare in the next seasons? There might be no wonders why they might not be missed at all.
