Our world today is full of surprises, from telephone landline to wireless phone, from Industrialization to the era of computers and technologies and now from mechanical transportation to a high level eco-friendly E-bicycle. This E-Bike comes from the famous vehicle company Ford, and is definitely a first in Ford’s line of automotives.
The E-Bike, which has been introduced in the most recent Frankfurt Motor Show, is generally made from carbon fiber and aluminium. It is clearly one of those lightweight bicycles with just around 5.5 pounds put into it. Aside from this it has a Giant SLR stem which is made from carbon too, and a Selle Italia SLR XC saddle. The wheels are MAvic Elipse and put the speed if 11 internal gear hub and Shimano Rapidfire shifters.
The bike’s innovativeness does not end in its physical features. It has a high power front wheel and a hub-mounted motor that can produce 350 watts. It can run also on a battery composed of lithium ion, making it actually chargeable. A single charge of the E-Bike can allow the user to run 15.5 miles per hour.
A proof for the sellable characteristics of the E-Bike is the fact that it was able to sell 30 million units the previous year worldwide. Ford’s Customer Service Division director in Europe, Axel Wilke, had said that the rise of such popularity is because E-Bike usage enables the bikers to choose different modes – Sport, Economy and Comfort, something that does not exist in other manual bikes.
There is no more eco-friendly vehicle than the E-Bike. Manual bikes themselves are eco-friendly in essence, but the E-bike, that can save manual effort without the need to use fuel, is agreed to be eco-friendlier than other innovative mobiles like power trains. And because the E-Bike is really sleek and elegant in its form and boasts of an outstanding cutting-edge technology, then this can easily become a favourite form of transportation among people, especially those who are for the green environment. Who would not want to have something that can not only help the environment, but can also allow the user to exercise if he wants to exercise or have smooth sailing if he wants to just be comfortable when sailing through.
