In Honor of Steve Jobs (1955 – 2011)

Millions are still mourning the death of Apple’s famous previous CEO, Steve Jobs, who has died due to a rare cancer in the pancreas on October 5 2011. Steve Jobs is greatly admired by a lot of people especially in the technology market. He was and is still famous for the innovations he brought on and introduced to computers and communications. The legacy he has left is truly marvelous and amazing. But what millions do not know, is how this man had handled all his life — which was not really easy. Let us look into this man’s life, how he had become the man he was.

In 1955 Steve Jobs was born to a young college graduate woman, who had given him up for adoption but his adoptive parents were not graduates of college either. But the adoptive parents made sure that they would be able to send Steve to college so they have saved up money for him. But when Steve was in college in Reed College Portland Oregon, he decided not to waste his adoptive parents’ money so he dropped out from his course after a semester. His first real job in 1972 was with Hewlett Packard.

In 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started creating the first Apple Computer. Later on, Armas Clifford Markkula, an American entrepreneur who made millions on stock investments, brought in money to Jobs and Wozniak through investing $250,000. Technically then, Jobs, Wozniak and Markkula were the first three employees and owners of Apple. In 1983, Jobs began hiring other people as CEOs of Apple. He hired first Mike Scott and John Sculley.
In 1984, Jobs introduced the Macintosh, which was the first small computer in world that operated on GUI. And the same year he was fired.

In 1996, Apple brought in Jobs back and hired him as interim chief executive by buying NeXT. This was because Apple was experiencing business and innovation failures at that time.

In 2004, Job was diagnosed with cancer but this did not hinder him from creating innovations. In 2007, he introduced Apple’s first iDevice, the iPhone. He introduced this and mentioned that Apple was going into mobile devices. After the success of iPhone, Jobs introduced then iPad, which also shocked the world in its totality. Job’s latest introduction was iOS5, in the middle of 2011.
