How would someone like Den Dragon Peter Jones see the tech world? What are the forms of technology he cannot live without? Here is a summary of the tech traits that define the gadget wise businessman Jones.
There are two things that Jones cannot live without, one- mobile phones, and two – the BT broadband dongle. These two connect Jones to his business all the time, even during holidays. He even mentioned that he carries about 3 dongles, an extra notebook and mobile phones everywhere he goes. When it comes to connecting devices, he neither prefers iPhone nor Blackberry when it comes to doing spreadsheets, because of the small screens, so he would opt for his MacBook and dongle. His favorite all time gadget is Samsung LE40B650 TV. He says that it is just “unbelievable” with the screen and image quality “second to none”. When asked whether he’s a twitter fan – he said that he had never personally used the apps, although he is much aware that there are people pretending to be him in twitter. His company uses twitter though for their National Enterprising Academy and BT events.
Talking about his favorite Dragon’s Den/American Inventor Gadget, he said that its the “true Call” – the one that links into one’s phone system and filters out nonsense calls. His least favorite is Layline Beds, which is simply a sheet stitched down in the middle to indicate the husbands and wives personal space when sleeping. Lastly, he said that the craziest gadget idea he had ever seen was that of the Knee Roller Skates.
Jones said that he has had no regret in all the things he went into but that it would have been great to be behind the original computer operating system. His take on google is that it will fall when virtual voice activation takes over the industry. He sees homes fully linked up with a computerized system. According to him, the web will still be a “central location device” in searching for information but there would be no need to use search engines like google because the virtual life forms will give one what one wants.
