Wireless HDD For Your Phone or Tablet

wireless hdd g technology

G-technology is announcing its wireless HDD for phones and tablets. This company is a subsidiary of Hitachi GST that follows the steps of SeaGate in providing a personal storage device. The said storage device acts as a companion to mobile devices with little storage capacity.

More likely, the G-connect device has a built in Wireless-N access point like the one we have with GoFlex Satellite. This enables access point to any Wi-fi enabled device that streams those stored content. The devices that are included are iOS tablets, smartphones and a dedicated app for easy transfer.

However, devices other than Apple can also connect via browser. It will connect through the DLNA complaint of which it will show up as a media playback on your network that can be accessed with compatible devices such as the GoFlex TV, PS3 console and the like.

One thing that makes G-connect amazing is that it can be simultaneously linked with up to five wireless devices comparable to GoFlex that only supports three devices. However, the downside of G-connect is that it does not include battery backups. For that reason, you will utilize an AC adapter or USB cable to keep it functional.

But on the brighter side, G-connect feature an Ethernet port and a drive that supports both public and private folders. Ethernet port supports the connection to an existing network and Wi-fi Internet access point via Ethernet will also be intensified. On the other hand, the drive of G-Technology protects your personal files and the data will not be exposed to other hard drives.

This will be available for around $200.
