Windows Phone 7, the mobile operating system developed by Microsoft is celebrating its one year from its launch on Mix10. And now, Microsoft is proud to reveal details on the status of this platform. They unveiled figures on the number of apps downloaded and the total number of platform developers.

To start, the number of apps now stands at 11,500 and it is being downloaded 1.5 million times. But the number of the members of the AppHub is what they parade the most. Currently, they have an accurate 36,000 developers for the platform. Add to that 1, 100 apps in the Marketplace are ad-supported and generating revenue with its Ad Control platform.
Furthermore, updates on Windows Phone 7 is getting exciting with its copy and paste features, faster apps and games, and a better Marketplace search. With Windows Phone 7, you can copy and paste any text such as text from emails, text messages, web pages and Office mobile documents to anywhere you can type. Also the time in starting up games and apps is already whittled to give the user efficiency. Most of all, finding specific apps, games or songs in Marketplace is easier. You can now choose to see results for only apps and games or only games when you search it on Marketplace.
Another reason to be excited about this platform is that you can start it always at your fingertips. The Start screen is home on Windows Phone 7, which the user can quickly customized and constantly update. With one glance it tells you what is going on, what is happening next and what you have missed? It also depends on the app, like the Start’s animated Live Tiles might show pending messages and appointments, news and weather, or game and friend status. These will be all refreshed wireless via the web. You can also decorate it by pinning people, apps, playlists, pictures, and other favorites.
