Recently, the market is flooded with LED back lighted monitors. Due to the overwhelming models that we see, it became hard for us to differentiate one from the other.
However, the Acer S1 S231HL attempts to differentiate itself by taking the basic spec a little beyond what we are used to without raising the price. And we are amazed with this new Acer S1 S231HL 23in model. This monitor is only 15mm thick, coupled with thin bezels, it has a panel that sports a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and has a huge twelve million to one dynamic contrast ratio plus 250cd/m2 brightness.
The unit also includes an HDMI port, as well as DVI and a legacy VGA connection. And it only weighs 3.6kg that has pleasing specs. Its Colours are vibrant and it’s easy to tweak the settings to perfection. The blacks are deep, there is no real light bleed, and the 5ms response time produced no noticeable ghosting or blur.
Acer is also pushing the low environmental impact of the S1 range; it helps lower your power bill by extension. With the LED back lights; this monitor is free from hazardous substances like mercury and incorporating power-saving technologies. It also lives up to the claim of sipping a lowly 24W under normal use.
Furthermore, as to sizes of its monitor it can vary according to your workspace. If a 23in monitor is a little big for your workspace, you can get an 18.5, 20 or 21in version. The smaller displays don’t sport the Full HD resolution or the HDMI port, but then again, from $169 they are a whole lot cheaper.
