Review: DELL U3011: BASKY 30in LCD
The trends of new gadgets are getting smaller and smaller. But today, Dell has made a shift of trend with its 30in Dell U3011. At first, when you try to look at this LCD, it is barely attractive, thick and ordinary boxy type. But watch out, once you turn it on and see its surprising features, I assure you that it’s worth spending for.
Dell U3011 is presumed to be built mainly for image quality. Despite its unattractive appearance, one can really attest to the saying that states “if you are looking for a real beauty, don’t look at the outside appearance but look at the inside”. This saying is a bull’s eye in describing this monitor. Its beautiful features include a 2,560 x 1,600 resolutions, 10-bit panel providing 1.07 billion colors, DisplayPort plus dual HDMI, dual DVI, VGA and Component connections, four USB ports, a card reader plus 3.5mm 5.1 surround sound output jacks.
With the size of its resolution, it displays vibrant and 1.07 billion of colors in a wide screen. The matte screen on the Dell is great at avoiding reflections, making it a good choice even in your natural light-filled workspace. On the flip side, deep blacks and no visible light bleed make this monitor equally well suited to dark areas. The 7ms response time might seem a little low, but we couldn’t detect any spook during gaming or movie playback.
At $1,899 retailing price, it’s already a good value.
