Self-sustaining homes are the future – here is the Home for Life project!
The Home for Life project in UK marks the beginning of eco-friendly housing.
It came from the Danish concept of Active House which is a self-sustainable and carbon-neutral home. The following are its features on eco-friendliness:
- Air-tight insulation to keep the house cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter
- Climate-control system that minimizes the need for electricity and heating
- Specialized, automated windows to take advantage of outside heat and air
- Solar panels that generate electricity from the Sun
- Eco-friendly building materials that reduces emissions from manufacturing processes
As of now, the price of building an eco-friendly house will be around $700,000, and we will have to wait a bit longer for it to be available in US.
