Motorola rugged WX450 for AT&T appears on FCC

AT&T is expected to add a new rugged Motorola device to its listings soon. Documents about an unannounced Motorola WX450 handset have been spotted on theFCC website.

The Motorola WX450 is a ruggedized bar-style QWERTY phone that is similar to the Clutch (sold by Nextel/Boost), but has support for quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band 850/1900MHz WCDMA, which makes it more likely to be sold by AT&T.

the Motorola WX450 is said to feature 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, FM radio, and support for push-to-talk, storage expansion will be ensured through a MicroSD card slot, but availability of Wi-Fi remains highly unlikely.

The giant screw on the back is indicative of the fact that this is a water-resistant device, backed up with what appears to be a thick non-slip, shock-absorbing rubber cover; Motorola already sells the rugged Tundra on the carrier, so there’s certainly precedent for this sort of thing.

Release date of the device is still unknown and believes more info will be coming soon.
