User reports are showing that iPad 2 wi-fi model has better microhpone audio than 3G model.
With the recent launch of iPad 2 Wi-fi model, people are finding out its better recording quality of microphone than those microphones in the 3G model. The Wi-fi model offers remarkably a cleaner audio which sounds soothing to the ears and less echo prone.
The reason for this difference was answered by iLounge through its identification of the differences between the iPad2 Wi-fi models and 3G models. First point is the position of the microphones. In iPad 2 the microphone is placed in the top center of the device while in 3G models the microphone was placed in the top corner next to the headphone jack. Secondly, iPad 2 Wi-fi models house the microphone within the aluminum casing whereas the microphones in 3G models are within the plastic antenna strip.
In the meantime, Apple is unclear whether they will make any changes to the devices’ microphone mid-production to help minimize the differences of the products.
