Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play finally goes on official at MWC; will be available via Verizon in US

One of the most anticipate Smartphone with a Gaming capability is finally official, The Smartphone dubbed Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play was announced at MWC in Barcelona. New Xperia Play is the first PlayStation certified Smartphone that runs on Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The Smartphone is powered with 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and features 4-inch capacitive multi-touch display that supports FWVGA 480×854 pixel resolution, a customized UI aimed at gaming, a latest Adreno GPU, which will provide 60fps gameplay in 3D games, 5MP camera with autofocus which hopefully records 720p HD video by default and has an 8GB microSD card in the box.

The Smartphone will have exclusive access to will have access to content from publishers like Sony Computer Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Gameloft, Namco and more. The phone also features basic 3D gaming at 60 frames per second on the Smartphone and the company is preparing to launch about 50 new games from 20 different content publishers.

Other common features are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, and Digital Compass. The phone will come on both GSM and CDMA network, For GSM networks; Xperia Play will support Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and quad-band UMTS HSPA for faster and better telephony.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA play will hit the Market in March first and will be available in US through Verizon that will begin sales of the device April. The price of the phone hasn’t been revealed yet but hopes it will soon be available.
