Apple has reportedly closed the MobileMe online service forever, Apple notified resellers that it has decided to discontinue the retail box version of MobileMe.
Apple is reportedly working on an overhaul of its MobileMe service, potentially looking to shift to a free offering that would provide users with “digital lockers” for housing their music, photos, and videos. Consequently, the discontinuation of boxed MobileMe products could be paving the way for a sell-off of existing stock and a brief period of digital-only sales before transitioning to a free service.
Some other report says that the MobileMe is online-only now with a screen shot of the online page that says “MobileMe Now Exclusively Available Online”, you can only have a 60 day of free trial now and $99 for Individual activation for a year after the free trial.
The remaining action of Apple on MobileMe service is still on rumor and yet to be seen, the page appeared on the Screen shot is still available online I think Apple is turning it into a online only version as reports.
