HTC Merge a Handset had been on rumor for a long time finally became official. The HTC Merge Smartphone is the first Android-based CDMA/GSM dual mode phone. HTC also announced that the Phone will be made available in this spring 2011 via multiple carriers.
The Smartphone running on Android 2.2 Froyo will feature 3.8 inch 480×800 resolution capacitive touch-screen display, a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, Wi-Fi and an integrated GPS, a Slide-out QWERTY key board.
The device will also feature HTC’s own Sense UI and HTC’s FriendStream functionality that pulls social data from sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr so users can stay up-to-date on their friends without having a manage a load of separate applications.
In a statement, HTC America’s president Jason Mackenzie said,that “HTC prides itself on creating unique solutions that meet the needs of different customers, and with features like a full keyboard and global 3G roaming, the HTC Merge smartphone is the perfect example of this commitment,”
