samsung vibrant

According to PCMag and T-Mobile CMO Cole Brodman, Samsung Vibrant is getting Android 2.2 Update today; a long waited update, though not gingerbread is really exciting for Samsung Vibrant owners and expect an update with the New Gingerbread soon.

T-Mobile says Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant users will be getting Froyo today. Speaking to PCMag, chief marketing officer for T-Mobile, Cole Brodman, confirmed that Vibrant owners would start seeing the update on January 21.

Cole Brodman also give a glimpse that T-Mobile will update all Android phones to new versions of the Android OS within 3-5 months after Google makes the new OS public. This almost ensures another update to the device soon it could be Android 2.3 Gingerbread

One thing to inform you that everyone will not be able to update the device on the first day, the update was delayed may be to ensure smooth-functioning of some TMo-specific features, including Wi-Fi calling.

Anyway, what do you think about the T-Mobile’s late update for your Samsung Vibrant? I hope you comment on the article and will share your experience soon after you get update.

Updated via mini kies yesterday. It was very simple. Everything went smooth and froyo seems to be running just fine on my Vibrant. Ive been running it hard all night and have yet to run into any bugs.

I updated my Vibrant via the mini kies software yesterday. It worked flawlessly and my phone seems much snappier and sleeker. Better late than never, I guess.

I also updated successfully my Vibrant to Froyo using mini kies…so far things are working OK …. EXCEPT I cannot play Avatar movie…says it’s “Locked” …. I heard that I should have removed my sd card before updating to Froyo….anyone else have this issue or know how to resolve it??

Updated yesterday. Phone is running very slow. Internet is about half as fast as before. I hate that it opens a new page if I search a site in the google bar. Anybody else having issues?

Finally after some windows recognizing my phone issues, to my excitement it started downloading. After the install and reboot, everything seems to be alot faster. Some of the icons are a bit different. GPS seems to be working really good and fast. All the other new features work fine also..ie..flash video and wi-fi calling. The portable hot spot works fine also…Just waiting to see how long the battery life is..Overall, everything runs alot smoother…

Ya Klutz, ride it hard! Lol! I just made up my mind last night to root my phone and I was going to do it today but now I’ll just get on kies and do it legally. I know there was a lot of complaining but thank T-mobile for finally stepping up!

I updated my vibrant via Kies yesterday. Im very impressed with the enhancements so far. The speed is greatly improved, no more lag, and i noticed that applications shut down when youre done with them.

I wont get into a full review here..but the update stopped me from throwing this thing against a wall and purchasing an iPhone. Now if they only fix the pathetic email client..then we’re dancing!
