RIM BlackBerry Dakota rose today with a flight that included his first recent picture and a significant leap in hardware features. The Bold-like, touch-capable device should now have a much larger and clearer 2.8 inch, 640×480 display. It would also be the first BlackBerry to record HD video, BGR said, and could rise to Apple and Google with built-in 3G Access Point to share the connection.
The stand-out Dakota’s technical specifications include a 2.8 inch 640 x 480 capacitive touch screen, the BlackBerry OS 6.1 and a 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording, flash and image stabilizer. RIM recently unveiled the BlackBerry developer tools 6.1, which is based on the improvements made by BlackBerry 6. This may be the first device to ship with the latest software on board. The screen is a little smaller than 3.2 inches diagonally BlackBerry torch, but shares the same resolution. Packing of the same resolution in a smaller space means that the screen will be sharper.
Moreover, the Blackberry Dakota said that so far only 10.5 mm thick and for those who like wireless immobilization – which will support 3G wireless hotspot. Unfortunately, while all this sounds and looks good, still have to see not only an official announcement from RIM, but also carriers. In addition, we can not stop being a little curious what it will cost. Of course, while this looks good for a BlackBerry, I have to think it is just that – good for a BlackBerry. In other words, still seems far behind in terms of specs, compared to other smartphones on the market, despite having used a BlackBerry for a time in the past, they still have a special place in my heart.
No evidence has emerged of a shipping date, but CTIA in late March or World BlackBerry exposure in early May could be the most likely option. It is the amazing “super phone” that RIM needs to have Android and the IOS on the Bay, but at least a step in the right direction.
