Mercedes-Benz has completely revised the SLK Roadster, which is totally new for 2011. The third-generation roadster is brand new, and arrives in the United Kingdom in late 2011 with the smaller, more efficient engines. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK will be a hardtop convertible with a glass roof that can change from transparent to color in seconds. For the first time, the SLK will be available with four-cylinder engine. Like its predecessor, the new Mercedes-Benz SLK was clearly inspired by current superstar Stuttgart. No more pointed nose of the outgoing Mercedes SLK SLR McLaren-imitating, replaced by the influence of the new supercar SLS. The large grid is almost upright and well ahead of all LED lights, lengthening the hood to the front end of SLK’s most powerful and dramatic.
The designers have done as a body for the new Mercedes Benz SLK, which emphasizes its classic roadster proportions and placed in the center of attention to exciting effect. Behind the long hood is a compact cockpit placed far behind, and a short tail. The Mercedes Benz SLK tempt potential customers with the key attributes that characterize all the classic roadsters of Mercedes Benz and have also made many of these automotive icons of the brand.
The new roof is the crowning glory of a slightly larger SLK that exhibits the classic sportscar proportions of a long bonnet and a short tail. With 7G equipped, the SLK200 is the most economical roadster in its segment, returning 46.3mpg, yet it still manages a 7.0sec 0-62mph time and 147mph top speed. The SLK250 returns 45.3mpg while hitting 62mph in 6.6sec and a 150mph top while the most powerful model, the SLK350, dashes to 62mph in just 5.6sec and is good for 155mph. Thanks to the new V6’s direct injection technology it will also return an impressive 39.7mpg, compared to its rival Z4’s 31.9mpg. Whilst this is the most powerful Mercedes SLK at launch, it should not be long before AMG shoehorns in a tune of its new 5.5-litre V8 to make a miniature SLS…
With more compact in its class, the new Mercedes Benz SLK has a generously sized interior which is exemplary. Last Mercedes SLK reach showrooms in the UK in June 2011. While prices and product specifications have not yet been confirmed, must not stray too far from starting price of the current SLK, which is just below £ 31,000. The 2012 Mercedes SLK will be available with a V6 engine with 302 horsepower SLK350 form, but will also be available with a four-cylinder engine in the SLK250. Mercedes says the 2012 SLK250 get 27 mpg combined. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK goes on sale in the summer of 2011.
