It was predicted that this year would be the year of the tablets and Asus has kicked of 2011 in style with its latest announcement of Eee notes. Asus Eee Android tablets called Transformer Pad, Slider and Eee Pad Notepad. The transformer and Slider are 10.1-inch tablets that will be released in April and May, respectively.
The slider has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, hence the name, and has a Nvidia Tegra chip 2, an Nvidia GPU and a front facing camera 1.2MP plus a rear facing camera 5MP. It is aimed at business and consumers.
The processor also uses the CPU and GPU and Nvidia has a detachable keyboard, so that becomes – What marketing genius came with these names? Its price ranges from $ 399 to $ 699. Why the price is almost double is unknown at this point.
Third, Eee notebook is “the perfect blend of the tablet and smartphone.” It has a 7-inch multitouch screen and an extra of independent media phone. MeMo offers pen-based application, Media Note and Painter. Other features include 1 GHz processor Dual-Core processor and Qualcomm Snapdragon Micro HDMI port.
The tablet is called Wintel Eee EP121 board and comes with 2 GB or 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, 32GB or 64GB of SSD storage and has Bluetooth and a 12.1-inch 1280×800 LED touchscreen and an Intel Core i5. It goes on sale later this month, also supports 802.11n wireless, a mini-HDMI port, two USB ports, a card reader and a dual 2MP webcam. Its price will range from $ 999 to $ 1,099.
These tablets will reach international markets by mid-2011.
