Trailer for THQ’s Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 – Retribution has debuted and the first reactions are very favorable. “Epic” is the first word the spirit of many in the gaming community blogosphere comes after watching this visual treat. The 3D rendering is great and the action is very smooth. The dead emperor minions are back and they’re out for blood.
Place years after the events in Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising Retribution players can choose their perspective with the first multi-race single player campaign in Dawn of War II series. The first race to be revealed is the fierce Orcs, but no matter what race was selected players will be taken on a journey through each story, revealing the answers to many questions unanswered in the previous Dawn of War titles. Like the single player campaign, Retribution will feature new multiplayer units, maps and a whole new playable faction when it ships.
THQ confirmed previously that this extension will Steamworks network and online gaming to take options from Valve. This will allow players to Retribution Steam friends list, groups, chat Steam, and the results add to their Retribution game panel. Retribution will also include a newly designed player ranking system and matchmaking. According to THQ, this is a custom design for retribution. Other benefits include Steamworks to table include guest passes, promotional events, multiplayer, preloaded patches and updates easier and more seamless. The added robustness of this multiplayer features make this expansion worth the wait.
