This News could make Users of HTC Magic happy that the phones will be getting Android 2.2.1 update soon, for better known “Froyo”, much like its HTC myTouch 3G relative that has already begun receiving updates on the T-Mobile USA network.
The update will hit users of the phone on the Vodafone UK Network. With this update, the phone will get a bunch of feature additions like support for USB Tethering, the all new Gmail and YouTube versions and much needed support for Exchange. You will also be able to copy apps to flash memory cards
That said, do keep in mind that due to hardware restrictions some other Froyo features like live wallpapers, support for flash and wi-fi hotspot creation would not be supported.
Even though this isn’t quite Gingerbread, this is a serious improvement nonetheless despite what’s now considered to be underpowered hardware.
