Here is a Video that Will Show You How To Unlock Your iPhone 3Gs & 3G Running 4.1/4.2.1 Firmware. Aka Basebands 5.14.02 & 5.15.02

  1. Download Redsn0w And The iPad Firmware. and Download Your 4.1 Or 4.2.1 Firmware.
  2. Open PwnageTool And Select Your Firmware ( The Firmware Of Your Device) Either 4.1 or 4.2.1
  3. Restore To The Custom Firmware In iTunes By Holding Option And Clicking Then Selecting The Custom Restore.
  4. Unlock With ultrasn0w.

    Hello , How you??
    I was using google to find how to restore my iphone, so yesterday i tried to unlock my 3gs and then instead of having cydia on my screen it was just a lil white icon reading cydia , so i told myself let me just restore it and then i tried and tried but i cant restore it, but while watching your video you say that i can restore to custom firmware, how can i do that?Please let me know, I am in middle of my exam period and going on vacation soon, so i really need my phone to work.

    ps how do you know if its an old or new 3gs

    Do you have to download Redsnow to unlock this baseband?
    @Melissa to see if it is 3g or 3gs, 3gs and has a compass 3g does not.

    @Melissa, you can jailbreak firmwares 4.1 (untethered) and 4.2.1 (tethered) but as i write this, there is no unlock for basebands 5.14.02 & 5.15.02. You can upgrade the baseband to 6.15 (the one used on iPads) to unlock and use other simcards of other carriers, but then this entails lots of thinking because once upgraded to 6.15, you cannot downgrade anymore to iPhone baseband. You can restore to custom firmware via redsnow and pwnage, checkout the tutorials in youtube. I have a jailbroken 3gs but its locked because i have a 5.14.02 baseband which ultrasn0w 1.2 cannot unlock (again as I write this).

    @Melissa a 3gs has the chrome Iphone lettering on the back where as the 3g is a gray color if you cant get into the phone at least you know you have to use a custom firmware with no baseband update, search google for a custom 3g or 3gs firmware with no bb ipsw depending on your model Silver or gray this will get your phone back to working order….then jailbreak it with greenpoison rc5 or rc8

    I have a jailbroken 3gs but its locked ,ios 4.1, i have a 5.14.02 baseband..What is the best option for me for unlocking? either on 4.1 or 4.2.1 and how? any helpful links..?
