UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s DeceptionTM blurs the entertainment boundaries, delivering the cinematic scale, adrenalin rushes, thrills and mystery that are the UNCHARTED trademark; together with its unique and enhanced multiplayer experience. Fans of the franchise and newcomers alike will relish the opportunity to catapult themselves headlong into a real adventure, in a search for the fabled “Atlantis of the Sands.” The journey propels fortune hunter Nathan Drake on a daring trek into the heart of the Arabian Desert, a journey that pits him and his mentor Victor Sullivan against the occult treachery of a shadowy clandestine organization and its ruthless leader. When the terrible secrets of this lost city are unearthed, Drake’s quest descends into a desperate bid for survival that strains the limits of his endurance and forces him to confront his deepest fears.
Remember the recent announcement that a new PS3 exclusive reveal was set for the day after the VGAs? Well, good news, bad news. The bad news is – it wasn’t Starhawk. We thought it might be Starhawk (our source said LightBox’s follow up to Warhark is definitely ready for a reveal), but it wasn’t Starhawk. In fact, it wasn’t a new game at all.
With two hugely popular games, dedicated fanbase, and now a movie on the way, Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series has alot going for it. The second sequel looks like it might prove the saying “third time’s the charm” as Sony has officially lifted the lid on their highly-anticipated Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Little is known about the game at this point, even after watching the all-too-brief teaser-trailer, but I’m willing to bet they’ll be plenty of suspense, action, and wise-cracking by its heroes Nathan Drake and pal Sullivan. Oh, and let’s not forget climbing; gotta have climbing in a proper Uncharted game.
Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception is going to involve a heck of a lot of sand in Nathan Drake’s crack and is sure to put him in a ton of new and dangerous situations that he’d rather avoid. Lucky for us, he sucks really bad at staying out of trouble, which means that we get a new, and damn awesome looking title to look forward to. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is scheduled for release on 11/01/11. Now if only that meant the eleventh of January.
