Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has finally made its big debut and it’s looking to take as much of the spotlight away from some of 2011’s other big titles. Naughty Dog’s put out an Uncharted 3 video which slips behind the scenes and shows the devs and cast working on last week’s reveal trailer.
In the video, members of the Naughty Dog development team talk about the praise that Uncharted 2 received and how grateful they are for the numerous Game of the Year nods they received. Uncharted 2 was certainly a fantastic game and deserved all of its accolades, but now that some time has passed it was time for the team to look towards the next entry in the series and where they wanted to take Nathan Drake.
With their own motion capture studio at their disposal, Naughty Dog is able to give gamers a look at what goes into creating the engaging cutscenes in Uncharted. Using actual voice actors Richard McGonagle and Nolan North as the motion capture actors looks to not only allow the two actors to play around, but it should make the scenes in the game feel much more authentic. North and McGonagle even go on to talk about their experience with Uncharted and how it has affected their lives. For North it certainly has made him the closest thing to a household name in the video game industry.
Here’s a behind the scenes look at the guys at Naughty Dog talking about the next chapter in Drake’s legacy as a new cultural icon. Warning (or, you know, whatever the opposite of “Watch now if you want to know more about the game!” is), we do get to see some new stuff going on in the background.
