Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Now Available on the iOS App Store

EA Mobile have revealed they have brought Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 over to the App Store. Available on the App Store now for $6.99, the game’s listing mentions that it will feature “13 klassic warriors including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Sonya Blade.” If that’s to be believed (and why not?), it means this isn’t quite as “ultimate” as the original Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, which featured more than 13 fighters.

Earlier this year, EA Mobile acquired the rights to publish a watered down version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on Mobile Phones that run on the Java Platform and have already released a 2D sprite version of the game with six playable characters. The iOS version has 3D character sprites and battle arenas, but battles will continue to remain 2D. The game supports multiplayer via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so you can execute some fatalities on your friends. In case you’re not finding the default controls to your liking, kustomize your kontrols!

Those of you who grew attached to video games with me in the 90′s will be glad to know that the original arcade fighting game Mortal Kombat is now available with 13 klassic warriors including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Sonya Blade; multiple game modes; kustomizable kontrols; and updated visuals aimed to maximize the high-resolution Retina Display on the iPhone 4. The first batch of games to be released in this massive 70 game wave for a buck apiece are Need for Speed Hot Pursuit for iPad, Cause of Death for iPhone and SimCity Deluxe for iPad and BattleField Bad Company 2, ALL of these are to be released today.

The ports are developed and published by EA, and separate to the upcoming NetherRealm Studios-created game Mortal Kombat from Warner Bros.
