Toyota is ready to reveal its new sedan variant Toyota Etios sedan model on December 01. Its hatchback model will be introduced three months later in March 2011. The Coming Etios Liva hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine with peak power peeking near the 80PS mark.The Toyota Liva can be termed as lightweight with its 890kg body work. It doesn’t touch the Swift’s 1.2 K12 engine power output but that is expected to be made up during performance because of its lightweight. Fuel efficiency is probably what’s being anticipated now what with the the Swift and the Ritz recording strong figures. ARAI fuel efficiency reports for the Toyota Etios sedan is being penned at 17+ kmpl, so the smaller vehicles should look stronger than that.
According to the latest industry sources, the hatchback model will be christened as Toyota Etios Liva which will be a sub-range of brand Etios. The naming strategy is quite similar to Maruti Swift and Swift Dzire where the sedan is an extension of the Swift brand.
Toyota Etios Liva is expected to be launched in three variants Liva V, Liva J and Liva G. Toyota later on also intends to introduce the diesel model of the car powered by turbo-charged 1.4L diesel engine. Toyota Etios sedan and hatchback claim to be the most spacious sedan in their segment. Both cars have ARAI certification of mileage of 17+ kmpl.
