The U.S wireless carrier, T-Mobile is set to introduce a new, low-cost, international text and calling plan in time for the holidays. The new plan will allow users to send unlimited text messages to cell phones in over 220 countries and call land-line phones in 56 countries without incurring long-distance charges. Calls made specifically to these countries will count against your plans monthly minute-allowance.
T-Mobile will introduce their new International Talk & Text plan on December 8th, The plan is only available to their on-contract subscribers with plans of $49.99 or more, and excludes international voice calls to mobile phones.
The basic $10 plan includes international calling and unlimited international (but not domestic) texting. There is also a $25 plan, which adds unlimited messaging in the U.S. In between those options is the $15 plan, which offers international calls and texts to Puerto Rico only. T-Mobile will also extend discounted long distance rates to countries not on the list.
