iPhone owners should be able to buy an upgraded version of the classic action-RPG Secret of Mana sometime in the next two weeks, Square Enix has announced that it will be released before the end of the month.
In a post on the official Square Enix Facebook, Masaru Oyamada producer revealed that the game had been submitted to Apple and approved for publication on the App Store. For some reason, could not Oyamada announce a specific date yet, but promised “We will publish shortly in this month. I swear it’s soon! I swear again, it very soon! ”
So, you know, soon. Oyamada has also released some screenshots, showing clearly the iPhone version of Secret of Mana will be a boost graphics on the original Super Nintendo came out in 1993 way back. A price has also not been announced yet, but in the comments section of the post, Square Enix vaguely promised it will be “less chaos RINGS. Not $ 0.99.” So anywhere between $ 1 and $ 11.99, then (but probably in the top band of the spectrum).
The original released on Super Nintendo in 1993, and popped up again in 2008 on Virtual Console on Wii. The second installment in the Mana series, Secret of Mana swapped out the traditional turn-based RPG battles for real-time bouts. It also donned awesome visuals for the time, and a stunning soundtrack.
