Android 2.3 Gingerbread is set to arrive by the end of the year and last time we checked, the new Android OS was rumored to arrive on December 6. Google hasn’t sent out any official details on the update’s arrival, but, with two days to go until Monday we have Notion Ink teasing us with Gingerbread news.

Rohan Shavran, CEO and lead designer of Notion Ink, had some great news for those looking forward to the Notion Ink Adam and all of Android. In this week’s post, Rohan says that all 6 variants of the Notion Ink Adam tablet (3g, WiFi only, LCD, and Pixel Qi) have passed EMI testing at the FCC, which means that the next step is to ramp up mass production of the device in preparation for launch.

Notion Ink’s CEO and lead designer, Rohan Shavran, said in a recent post:

6th December is another big day for Android and you will find out how fast Notion Ink can work. (Eden is extremely compatible with 2.3)

Rohan also said that pre-orders for the Adam will be going up soon, will last for “a long time”, and priority will be given to those who have been actively commenting on the blog.

It’s certainly no confirmation from Google, but that one sentence from Notion Ink has reignited the rumor mill. When you remember that on November 15th, Eric Schmidt said that Gingerbread would be coming in a “few weeks,” the possibility of getting a Gingerbread treat on Monday looks even better.
