Have you got a cover for Kindle e-book reader and got trouble with it? Don’t worry, Amazon is now ready to refund or replace the product. Amazon got complaint that accessory was interfering with their ability to use the device.
The cover uses some metal hooks, which are meant for conducting electricity in the lighted edition of the case. However, in the non-lighted version, such hooks have lead to the malfunctioning of the device. The company has not officially confirmed the problem, but apart from refunds, it is also offering to replace such faulty Kindle covers.
Users in the company’s online forums complained that a leather Amazon-branded cover, which costs $34.99, was causing the Kindle to freeze and lose track of pages. The Kindle is Amazon’s best-selling item and the refunds come during the holiday shopping season, the company’s busiest time of year.
“There have been some forum discussions regarding the non- lighted Kindle cover,” Amazon said in a blog posting. For those with the problem, “we will be pleased to replace it for free or accept a return for a full refund, no matter when the cover was purchased.”
The cover, which fits the $139 Wi-Fi-only version of the Kindle, weighs 13.4 ounces (380 grams), according to the Amazon site. It comes in seven colors, including black, chocolate brown and hot pink.
Amazon has admitted that its team of engineers is looking into the matter. The company’s refund or replacement offer does not have any purchase related constraints. So, in case your Kindle cover is giving you any trouble, then you can go ahead and get it replaced irrespective of the time of its purchase.
