Sony Confirmed that this year’s PlayStation Awards will be announced live over the internet starting tonight at 11:30 PM Pacific time. According to Sony, the USTREAM broadcast will be posted on the official PlayStation Awards website for everyone to see.
First started after the 1994 release of the original PlayStation, the annual PlayStation Awards gives Gold Prize and Platinum Prize awards to games that achieved sales of 500,000 or one million units. This year, Sony has also set up a user voted “Users Choice” award.
The PlayStation Awards are given each year to the biggest hits on all PlayStation platforms. With recent blockbusters like Gran Turismo 5 and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd coming after this year’s cut-off date, it will be interesting to see which 2010 title comes out on top.
