The news from the close associates of Microsoft say that the Chief Executive of Microsoft Mr. Steve Ballmer might be announcing its new Slates at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2011. It is expected that the new product of Microsoft will give a tough fight to the Apple iPad.
The first Microsoft slate was launched a decade ago by the founder Bill gates. The company is in full confidence of getting back to market with strong product. Many expect that Mr. Steve Ballmer will be announcing number devices for its customers as New Year gift at Consumer Electronic Show. There are also expectations that the Mr. Steve Ballmer might demonstrate its new slate and much waited operating system Windows 8.
Although the news is out, the officials of Microsoft have refused to speak about the upcoming products that have not yet been announced. The rumors say that this device will run the Windows 7 operating system when in landscape mode, but will also have a layered interface that will appear when the keyboard is hidden and the device is held in a portrait mode.
The company hopes that their new product can stop the monopoly of its close rival Apple and the consumers will prefer the new slates over other devices because of its user friendliness.
According to some of the latest blogs, a person who works at Microsoft said the company was encouraging partners to build applications for these devices that use HTML5, the Web programming language. This person said the applications will not be sold in an app store, as with the Apple iTunes model, but Microsoft will encourage software partners to host the applications on their own Web sites, which will then be highlighted in a search interface on the slate computers. It is unclear if these applications will be ready for C.E.S. as most are still in production.
If everything goes on accordingly, the Microsoft lovers will have perfect New Year gift from Microsoft.
