Good news for all fans of Lara Croft in the world. The Tomb Raider trilogy gets the high definition treatment and will be released to the public next year. What started as a rumor was confirmed by Karl Stewart, Global Brand Director for Crystal Dynamics.
Crystal Dynamics is the developer of the Tomb Raider series. Based in California, the company started the development of the Tomb Raider series in 2006. This happened ten years after the original game by Core Design was a hit on the game market, drawing millions of fans worldwide.
It seems that more details are released next week according to Karl Stewart. For now, he confirmed that the Blu-ray disc with PS3 versions of the game will be on the market next spring. The disc contains all three Tomb Raider games that were produced in the past four years: Tomb Raider: Legend Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Tomb Raider: Underworld. The CD Tomb Raider: Anniversary was actually a remake of the original comic book inspired Lara Croft. This new package brings Tomb Raider: Legend and Anniversary for the PS3 for the first time. Legend was originally built for the PS2, Windows, Game Cube and Xbox 360, and Anniversary was built for the PS2, Windows, Wii and Xbox 360.
Apparently the disc will contain many unique feature plus a young Lara Croft, but very capable people and no resemblance whatsoever to Angelina Jolie.
