The Google lovers have to wait until mid 2011 to arrive its much anticipated Google Chrome OS. It is expected that this new operating system will enhance the computer to run faster. Google announced on Tuesday that their engineers needed more time to fix programs and fine tune chrome, which comes out with outstanding features to compete with its contenders Microsoft Corp and Apple Inc. they said that it takes another six more months to hit the stores its first laptops supported with new OS.
At the same time google introduced a pilot program for a small number of customers and business to test their softwares and to get their feedback. The consumers are given the test laptops through the Chrome Web browser and Youtube video site. Amr Corp.’s American Airlines, Kraft Foods Inc, Logitech International and Virgin Airlines are some of the companies getting Google’s test laptops. Acer Inc and Samsung Electronics Co. will be the two major companies who will be launching the laptops with Chrome OS and the price would be determined by them.
The Chrome OS computers will not have a hard drive, but will have online access to run more programs, which features a 12.1 inch display screen with standard size keyboard. Google joined with Verizon Communication to provide wireless network to the consumers to connect to the Web. There is an offer for the users that they get free 100 megabytes consumption per month for two years. The large data plans will cost merely $9.99 per month.
The slow and bulky net access provided by Miscrososft Windows’s software led to Google to develop its own computer operating system in order to navigate the internet within a few seconds after switching on the laptop.
However it is anticipated that Google will face a stiff competition from other manufactures of sleek and touch screen tablets as they are the trend off today. it is expected that within a few months it will be the best selling gadget in the market. Thus Google has to do a lot of homework to face these challenges.
