Dell Streak Android Smartphone gets Price cut by $180; for Both 16 and 32GB

dell streak 1

Dell strikes down its Android powered phone Dell-Streak‘s price to $400, phone hasn’t got the market with lower price tag but you have to wait till January 10th for purchase if you think of.

It saves you $180 when it goes on sale, the device ships with Android 1.6 but you’ll get a 2.2 update once the device gets some internet. The US $180 price-cut came as a surprise and without a direct announcement from Dell but our guess is that Dell is simply feeling the heat from other Android slates as users are going for a larger screen devices in the same class.

The price cut not only for 16GB version same discount also available for 32GB version, is currently listed at Dell’s site for US $498.99. In Android era we can’t say that Dell Streak is great phone but if it gets an update with Froyo, owners of the device could almost be satisfied.

Maybe the price drop has to do with the fact that Walt Mossburg of the WSJ has JUST labeled this product one of the 3 worst gadgets of 2010! I dont think the price drop is a coincidence!

I love my Streak…it is perfect for anyone who does not want to carry a laptop or even a netbook. Mine is the new upgrade with Android 2.2

My Streak is perfect – because I now have Froyo(2.2) on it. I used 1.6 for @ 1 month and the experience was less than desirable. It’s a whole other world with Froyo! The Streak (hardware wise) is second to none – quite exceptional. I retired my iPhone and I have absolutely no regrets. My behavorial habits have even changed with my Streak – I actually surf the web with it, unlike I ever did with my iPhone. My experience is easily 5 Stars (with 2.2) and I am glad to use it each day.
