The long-awaited fourth Title Update for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be arriving today on Xbox 360, it has been revealed this morning, The patch 1.04 to address a myriad of issues plaguing Call of Duty: Black Ops. While not exclusively for the PS3 (for the Xbox 360 as well) the Ps3 version had been effected by more serious issues. Unfortunately, the patch has brought new issues.
Patch 1.04 addresses a whole host of issues with Treyarch’s blockbuster FPS, including several that are unique to each platform. Apart from the security, glitch and connection fixes, many changes have been made to the gameplay mechanics including spawn system improvments, sniper rifle headshot multipliers have been changed – making suppressed sniper rifles a one-shot-kill when hit in the head, and increased ranges and volume of enemy footsteps for players who use Ninja Pro. Most interestingly, a “subtle increase” in sniper rifle accuracy when scoping in has been made – meaning slightly less “bounce”.
PlayStation 3 gamers receiving patch 1.04 will find several issues with parties getting disbanded unexpectedly having been resolved, along with additional measures to prevent the “Transmission error” and other disconnects. Activision and developer Treyarch have been gathering data and are trying to find out what specifically went wrong. Looks like patch 1.04 isn’t the cure-all many hoped it would be.
