The first downloadable content package for Call of Duty: Black Ops. “First Strike,” as the new content is called, is a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 and will be out on February 1 for 1200 MS Points/$15.

‘First Strike’ the DLC will feature a new multiplayer map pack that contains four new regular maps and a single additional zombie environment building on what has quickly become the biggest entertainment release of 2010 as well as the all-format gaming charts’ Christmas No 1.

Black Op gamers will be transported to locations from the single player Hong Kong and the Arctic Circle maps as well as two brand new locations. One of these will be based around the Berlin Wall, and one will be an ice hockey stadium that pays homage to the 1980 Winter Olympics.

February seems like a good time to keep fans engaged in the shooter, especially with Homefront and Bulletstorm releasing in the same period.

Microsoft has a deal to get all Black Ops DLC first that runs until 2012. It’s not confirmed, but it’s likely that other formats will get the expansion in March 2011.
