BenQ is expected to launch its first tablet PC powered with Android in Q1 2011 in Taiwan and China, R100 tablet features 10.1-inch touch screen LCD display with 1024 x 600. A processor used in this tablet-based ARM made by Samsung is running at 833 MHz, according to BenQ.
BenQ is coming to a competition with Moving Tablet makers such as Apple and Samsung though, there is hope for them too as 2011 is believed to be real Tablet era. BenQ hopes to sell the R100 in content deals that pair the device with reading material such as books, or magazine and newspaper subscriptions.
Interesting thing is that BenQ claims that R100 tablet’s battery would lasts up to 12 hours, It can also be used for note-taking because users can write on the touchscreen with a stylus, in English or Chinese, both simplified and traditional characters.
The R100 also features 8GB of internal storage as well as an SD slot able to handle up to 16GB SD cards. BenQ added mini-USB and mini-HDMI ports to the device as well as a 3.5-millimeter earphone jack, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11. It weighs 720 grams.
There are no details about the price of the Tablet and seems that we have to wait till its official launch.
