SlingPlayer Mobile app by Sling Media is now available for Windows Phone 7 users, the company announced yesterday.
The company’s latest app retails for $29.99 in the Windows marketplace. Once downloaded, users can connect the programming to their Slingbox Solo or Slingbox pro-HD devices and watch television programming from home on their Mobile devices. Users can even change channels and watch recorded shows within the app. The service works on both 3G and Wi-Fi, Sling Media said.
“The big story about SlingPlayer Mobile on Windows Phone 7 is the quality of the user experience,” said John M. Paul, executive vice president of Products at Sling Media. “From the fully revamped user interface to the clear, sharp video images, customers are going to thoroughly enjoy watching TV on their Windows Phone 7 handsets.”
Sling Media is best known for its Slingbox.The device is used to connect to users’ AV source at home, allowing users to watch programs while away, on computer or mobile device. The Slingbox Solo is available at $ 179.99, and the Slingbox Pro-HD, which allows users to connect up to three home-theater devices costs at $ 299.99.
In addition to Sling Media’s Windows Phone 7 app, the company is getting close to releasing an iPad version of SlingPlayer Mobile. According to ZatzNotFunny, Sling Media sent an e-mail to customers recently saying the app was “about to launch.” The company said on its Web site that the app will cost $29.99 and “take full advantage of the iPad’s beautiful display.”
